After a solid 6 hours of working on the jeep got more off the list:
Install on board air system-----Done
double check timing chain...I think it's off and I'm too advanced-----Ping went away when the K&N came out
mount fire extinguishers------done
install front locker---Done
install 297 shafts---Done
2WD low kit----done
Measure for new rear shocks----done
Replace rear shocks----Done
install sliders----done
All that is left:
fresh Mobil 1 synthetic oil change
Double check transmission cooler lines
Found a new, old problem though. My Ping came back:banghead:
Pulled a few plugs they looked the right color but then I checked the gap, and much to my surprise they were all .044-.047 so just .010 over the correct gap!
The strange thing here is that the plugs were NGK V-Powers. They came pre-gapped but I checked them anyway before putting them in last summer and they were correct at .035.
They have only been in the jeep for about 8,000 miles though, and that's what is puzzling me. I've never seen plugs burn up so fast. The V-notch wasn't there anymore, just flat like a normal plug.
Anyway put six factory RC12LYC gapped correctly back in. Should be good enough for the crawl, I'll look in to possible issues after I get back.
