what state is Nac going to be in i'd really like to drive there!
Hazleton, PA. I-81 one exit beyond the interchange with I-80. Exactly 200 miles from my home on the west side of New Haven, via I-84 to Scranton and I-81 south from there. Easy drive unless you hit Danbury at commuter hour.

Sounds good to me- I guess just I-81 all the way up.

Sure hope its not windy for the trip up, lately it's been when the wind wants to change lanes on interstate- you do so or get DW :wierd:

Now that it's official lests get it posted as a upcommong event on the events bord. So that all can see and there is no more debate on the date.......Ben????

I will be donating some items this year hows some OX joints and maybe a locker???

This sounds good! :) Might be able to make the 4 day thing depending on new employer.

Red Ridge Campground is $10/day.

Paragon is, I believe $30/day, but I'm pretty sure we get a discount if you're a member of NAXJA.

Only other costs I can think of, are gas and beer....

Fees don't look that bad at $10/$30 per day ... gas to tow the pig 4.5 hrs cross state will be the big expense then! :wierd:

4.5hrs? damn, PA is huge... I always think Laurel is up by Wyoming valley, two years leaving up there did nothing for me I guess...

Yeah, this state is fairly large - biggest deal is there are few straight ways to get anywhere so it takes awhile to get places. I'm 2 hours east of Pittsburgh and I'm still 4.5 hours west of Paragon (Harrisburg is about 1.5 hours east). I'm close to Somerset (Turnpike exit 11 - can't remember the new exit #)

I think I'm going to plan on rolling in mid day on Thursday, wheel Friday and Saturday, then pack up and head home Sunday. If I get an early start I may be up for wheeling Thursday afternoon. At 6 months out, I should be able to pull this trip off unless I change jobs again. I've been meaning to wheel with the NAC crew for years now - time to make it happen! I'm sure being a NAXJA member with a YJ means I will be the black sheep and whipping boy of the event!!

There is a one-time event fee as well: Covers the costs of the Saturday night BBQ for the driver, event dash plaque, usually one raffle ticket, and any other odd expenses. Last year it was $10 per rig, which almost covered all our costs in putting on the event. In years past, it's been as much as $20, but $15 would probably be fair and about right. Then again, I'm not in charge anymore, so you'll have to wait and see what this year's committee comes up with.

Also, last year we negotiated a $25/day Paragon entrance fee for NAXJA participants (driver and vehicle). Passengers still paid $5/day. Hopefully we'll be able to get something similar for 2005.

Over the course of 4 days in 2004, we had just over 50 vehicles participate - from all over the Northeast, South and a strong contingent from the Midwest. Be nice if we could expand on that in June. With Paragon's 100 or so trails and plenty of us capable of leading all skill levels - no single run would ever get crowded.
