yeah it's totally welded on lol. I couldn't think of any reason in the world I would ever need to take it off so I prefer it to be permenant.
it mounts with a horizontal piece of 2x4 tied back into the frame rail back about 1' and is also tied into the floor
it's not going anywhere. ever
doesn't really show it, but you can sorta get the idea. still gotta cut out that extra bit of sheet metal hanging down
I moved the front leaf hangers forward a little bit. not sure how much stretch, but definitely stretched.
however, since my ubolt elims (you could do the same with perches) have 3 different mounting holes, I just moved the axle forward and mounted it on a different hole. so the 56's only added maybe 1" extra stretch over the rubicon springs
without adjustable mounts etc I'm guessing they'd be more like a 4" stretch. I haven't really been keeping track. just putting stuff where it fits
pretty sure I posted this pic a couple pages back. but yeah. all that stock mounting stuff seemed plain sketchy with 1 ton weight. I feel much more comfortable with 1/4" mounts front and 3/8" mounts rear
to this day I could not think of a good way to make that belly pan strong enough. as much as I wanted it, it just didn't seem worth the headache anymore. especially since I mounted the lower arms off the bottom of the frame rail anyway
so I got onboard with something a little bit easier for myself.. what do you guys think. strong enough? plated frame, and the 3/8 thick tabs will receive gusseting
I still plan to add some sort of pan to this. I'll get a pic of it finished later with the tcase on
make sure the inside is plated well, gusset those 3/8th tabs, and consider using a through bolt on the plates that the tabs weld to just for extra super beefiness.
Probably way stronger than what I'm doing right now. 1/4" x 8" c channel. Clearanced for driveline and exhaust pathway. It's up to the frame rails so I have a flat belly now.

oh snap just kidding. don't know why I thought the reno trip started in the middle of the week.. yeah if the jeep is happy enough on the road maybe I'll come on one of the runs
uhh., my bank account app shows $358.92
that's for a rebuild, tap, and hoses. they have a printable form on the website that show pricing on everything
I haven't bought and drilled out a new pump yet, but after shipping both ways, picking up a box of craigslist, a ram I already had, I'm in it exactly $500
pump should be like $56
