Thanks guys.
David - since I live 5 minutes from XO Fab, I assumed this would be the cage I am installing:
I plan to start there, and add on to it as needed (ie: there is no cross bar for harnesses, I'd prefer a full "X" cross bracing, etc). I do plan on incorporating it into the sliders, bumpers, and stiffeners for added protection and rigidity.
Is this what you were thinking?
Goose, I think you are right - to be honest, my style of wheeling (even with my current setup) I hardly get stuck, and always am impressed how well the Jeep does (minus the droop, due to the control arms binding - but the drop brackets should eliminate that once they arrive).
I also always tell people that one of my favorite aspects about wheeling is the element of uncertainty involved, and the McGuyver fixes that happen on the trail. I guess if I go all out, then it may no longer be a challenge... I'll throw my locker back in the rear and see how she does.
I guess taking it in phases is the best way to go. I'll install the drop brackets and focus on the cage for safety's sake - and who knows, maybe I'll never take it farther than that - and end up retaining driveability on the road. Best of both worlds.
To be honest, I did not expect this feedback, I expected to be pushed to go "more extreme". I am pleasantly surprised! Thanks guys!
