Yet another... Build thread for an xj on 40s and one tons in norcal

Yeah im not going to lie- the valve body work is is a bit intense for the first timer like me. There is so much going on in there.

If anyone needs a walk through on that or the aw4 pump seals or the shift shaft that goes through I was able to get that all done. Honestly I should have just done clutches too since I had the trans mostly apart.

The transgo kit is quite awesome though

20$ rack off clist. Not for wheeling . Just
For camping trips. Gave away my old one a while back.

rig has been super gutless. I am going to check compression soon, check the cat and swap it out but probably gut it first to see if that helps, and put my new speed sensors on the trans from my old trans.

anyone got any ideas?

new TPS and O2, , plugs, wires, cap and rotor, bored TB, K&N intake,
pretty sketchy entering the freeway sometimes I cant get up to speed fast enough.

Needs a stroker

Needs a stroker

yeah thats the fix. Until we get the time later in the summer for you to build it, I need to see if I cant eek out a few more HP and ft lbs just to get me by for now.

My MJ on stock gears and 33s can pull say 75mph up the same hills that my XJ will be doing like 35mph and struggling hard... the MJ runs really good in comparison, but the XJ is geared super low so Id expect more from it...not less.

is this the right intake manifold for the upgraded one?

I am tempted to grab one of these (if I cant find one at PNP) soon, and port match it to my head, just to eek some cheap power out. and I can use it on the stroker later on .

I would also blend the bored out throttle body into the intake as well

Looks correct.

Needs more cowbell.

yeah it needs something. it was really bad going to and from camping this last weekend.

5.38s. Going to check the cat next

No. Just really gutless though

My jeep had a problem with that when i first got it up and running. Ended up being the fuel pump. Just wasnt delivering the psi needed under load. Idled just fine and in fact passed smog with flying colors. But at about 65% throttle that was it. Nothing more past that.

Ill have to check fuel pressure too
