Yet another... Build thread for an xj on 40s and one tons in norcal

Think you're binding the tbar dropping it out?

It can go really far as it is right now before it binds, I would probably be dropping coils past the upper bump tower before they bind. At least from pulling the shocks and dropping it to the floor in the garage.

the jeep runs way better now. noticeably more power with the 703 injectors, new speed sensors, and touching + - together for 30 seconds to clear the computer.

steers way better now too.
one of the trackbar jam nuts had come loose. along with finding two bad heims in the thing.

Swapped axle side uca heim and heim at drag link and hi steer arm
the UCA was a all metal version of the FK, cheaper version than the JMX ones. went to a JMX this time. also, used FK misalignments this time, they have a slightly smaller lip than the ruffstff misalignments, which I think were digging into the FK heims .

uca:
14-10HB
JMXL14T

from WFO on clearance for the drag link:
FK14-12HB

Swapped out the injectors and speed sensors . used the new speed sensors from my old trans. swapped in 703 injectors for the stockers.

the #3 injector was super dark/dirty almost like it was leaking.

One of them had the wiring into the pigtail all frayed so i covered it with liquid tape, could have been a problem maybe.

also, 2-5 leaked out fuel, #1 injector did not leak out fuel when I pulled it. makes me wonder if it was not holding .

Rob Krause at RK specialities is building me one badass roll cage right now so I picked it up after work and have to return it in the morning to get a few more times bent up.

Rob is getting the cage done.
BAllistic made me some custom joints for my trackbar.
2" wide. 9/16 bolt.7/8-14 thread. To replace the heims.

I think you will have better luck with those.

If they ever go bad 7$ for new rebuild kits . And jeff over there is working with me on building some better stronger races but these should last a while

I need one of those joints for my track bar. Looking good

For some reason I knew you would be the first person to ask for these knowing you killed that pill bushing so fast....contact Jeff at ballistic and tell him you want the same joints he sold to jonathan larson....

I would imagine anyone who is killing 7/8-14 heims would want these, if anything, for the fact that they cost 7$ to rebuild, and are huge compared to a 7/8 heim and appear like they would last a long time....

Ballistic joints are in

one zirc stripped out while greasing. that was lame:

blocked the coil from getting into the trackbar. it was literally riding deep into the trackbar. I am sure that was causing some weird handling as the coils load unload on the road and I think it was contributing to the trakcbar jam nuts loosening. the trackbar was kind of stuck between 2 rings of the coil.

swapped out an injector pig tail and oil sending unit too .

put in some legs off the C pillars for a rear cargo rack. and to spread the load. welded some 1/4" plate to the floor .

made some C pillar frame Tie ins.

harbor freight cargo rack for the trailer hitch fits perfect in the back of an XJ - 51" width. bolted it to the cage.
