I broke one of the seat bolts off in the floor. So, now I have to drill it out and replace it. I do not care for this task.

Got a bunch of new stuff for the house this weekend, one of which is a pretty sweet grill just in time for grilling season. Gotta love when the parents come to down for the day :)

Leaving for New York first thing in the morning....really not looking forward to this trip.

If its the small one in the back I just under the jeep and cut off the threaded nutcert and replace with a standard nut and bolt. Much easier.

Yeah, that's the plan. I had to do the same thing on my other Jeep.

I can't figure out why Chrysler designed one of the seat bolts to pass all the way thru the floor and be exposed to the elements...

I wonder if it's welded as well as the shock bolts and you can knock it out the bottom from the top with a punch.

I like to hit em with a wire wheel from under the jeep before I even try to unbolt them. Hasn't failed me yet.

Wow, your luck sucks!

I use Husky torx bits, so the one time I didn't wirewheel the bolt off first (back in 2009 before I knew what I was doing), I snapped a Torx bit instead of the bolt :roflmao: I'll take it, I can get a free replacement for the bit and it isn't stuck in my jeep's floor.

Jesus that was a pain in the ass.

My cut off wheels weren't cooperating so I welded a nut to the bottom and tried to spin it out the bottom. Rang off the other side of the bolt.

Tried to drill it from the top and broke my best bit. When it broke it screwed up the bolt and I couldn't stay straight on it to drill it out.

Ended up grinding it down with a flap disc for half an hour and beat it out with a hammer and punch...

Drilled for a bigger hole with a uni-bit and put a bolt in it...

Done. Thank god.

Finally got the transmission back in. Working for 45 minutes to an hour every other night on it is a PITA, but she's back on the road. Shifts perfect and has a 12 month 12k mile warranty.

Oh, you know, just a few thousand dollars worth of switch swinging 50 feet in the air from a crane, that's all....

I'm ready to go the hell home. It's been a nightmare of a job this week. One thing after another. Lost hardware, missing components, and blew a hydraulic line on the one and only bucket truck we have on site today.

I'm running to fill the open spot in the BOD. If you don't know me check my thread in the members forum.

Broke the stock cloth seat base in my red DD Jeep, so I decided to swap the WJ seats from the Teal B*tch into the red Jeep since the Teal B*tch was getting some new seats anyway. I also broke three out of 6 bolts. Giant pain in the arse. Anyway, the Leather WJ seats are SWEET in the DD.

ignore the extension cord.. the PO wired in a "Sweet Sub"

Best part of all... zero rust... stuck a battery in it, aired up the tires, and drifted it around the neighborhood in the rain :greensmok
