89 XJ 4.0 in a 92 YJ

I am new to this site as a member, been reading about no spark at cranking as a guest. All of the excellent suggestions have not corrected the situation. The back story, purchased a 1992 (listed as a 1995) Wrangler JK due to the frame and body being solid as in not rusted out. The JK was not running and had a 4.0 and a five speed. The story was it was being driven hit a water puddle and stopped running. Not being aware of the different operating systems for the 4.0, I thought all 4.0’s were the same. I soon found out that the 4.0 in the 119k mile YJ was not actual. Engine was slam worn out. Purchased a 1995 4.0 with AX-15 transmission, this is when I found out what was in the 92 YJ was a 4.0, BA10/5 transmission from a 89XJ, how do I know all the sensors , injector rail, intake manifold and throttle body match what is sold for the 89XJ. Get parts swapped, engine back in the YJ, wires hooked up, oil pump primed, distributor clocked in, check that fuel pump comes on, it does , turn engine over and it cranks but does not fire. Pulled number one spark plug, plugged it into the wire, grounded it, had the engine turned over, no spark. Used a plug wire to the coil with a spark plug in it, turned engine over no spark. Site suggested the CPS as being the likely culprit, checked resistance as per a site given range, so close to out of range that it was replaced, no spark. Rechecked the distributor orientation per site recommendation, no spark. Checked dome fuse per site recommendation, good. Cleaned all grounds that could be located per site recommendation, no spark. As this was a Renix swap from a 4 cyl to a 6 cyl, I went looking for the ECU. The original location yielded a plug with no ECU. Removed the glove box as the injection wiring harness went thru the firewall in this location. A BENDIX ECU is behind the glove box. I have no idea how to tell if it is functional. I have not replaced the wires and plugs as I was thinking this could not be the reason for no spark, besides I am not wanting to throw parts at it. Those on this site have shown a vast understanding of this year Jeep. I am hoping one or many of you can provide insight into my lack of knowledge on this vehicle. As a side question, there are a multitude of plugs going to nothing on the passenger side by the fuse terminal, what did these go to if anything? Thank you for any advice on this no spark situation. 92XJ with 89 Renix operating system and a 95 4.0 with 89 sensors. Hot Rodding at its best
