Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I attended a wedding. It was the most disastrous wedding I've ever attended. Everything started late. The huge tent that the reception was supposed to be held inside of pretty much blew away. A storm rolled in half way through the wedding and started pouring rain. There were 150 chairs set up. Maybe 25 people attended. When the Bride and Groom were supposed to walk down the aisle after they were married the crowd was supposed to release butterflies. They forgot to hand out the butterflies so we all stood in the rain while they handed out butterflies... Then the butterflies were mostly dead and wouldn't fly...

It was great.

On Sunday I had my middle daughters 11th b-day pool party.

Today, I'm back at work.

Ouch, that sounds pretty rough.

I spent the weekend diagnosing a hesitation issue in the '98 Grand Cherokee. My wife had the codes read and they were P0121, P0132, and P0171. Two were O2 related and the other was TPS. I messaged Tim Nolan and he helped figure a few things out. I swapped the TPS and all seems well now.

Thanks Tim, you are the man!

No problem Ed! Glad it's fixed!

Went to a race Saturday night with my dad and some of the people I work with. Race got called about halfway through when a bad storm rolled in. Spent Sunday washing the Harlan off my Jeep and working in the yard.

I flew into Orlando for 2 meetings today. Got a Dart as a rental. It wasn't until I was on the highway that I realized it did not have tilt steering or cruise control. I did my two meetings and headed for Tampa for a third. I-4 was shut down for an accident so I took a 45 minute detour. Got into Tampa in the pouring rain and a number of intersections were flooded. I drove through one and hit a hidden pothole and blew out the left front tire. Of course The rain had gone but it was still 90° and 90% humidity and I was in my slacks and good shirt. I got the tire changed and put the car back on the ground only to find out that the spare was flat. I drove a block to a gas station and filled it up. I stopped at the Tampa airport to swap out cars on my way home and after arriving back in Orlando realized the Tampa branch did not include the toll pass on the replacement. I drove through three toll booths so I expect I will have to deal with a $300 unpaid toll bill. There is $100 per toll penalty for running a booth.

The rental company should have a $300 toll bill...

Dang, Dirk! If it makes you feel any better, I'm a truck driver, and I've blown through a few toll booths on the Florida turnpike, and they have just sent me a ticket saying if I pay it quick enough I can just pay the regular toll.

If you call this number, you can get out for just a few bucks. Good luck!

I finished my floor patches a few days ago, Herculiner'd the interior of my xj yesterday, and installed the driveshafts, got the brakes working, and went to the junkyard to get the rest of the parts I needed. The thing is coming along.
Last weekend I did a lot of work to the TJ, swapping the calipers and rubber hoses in the front, changing gear oil, engine oil, and serpentine belt, fixed the driver door to open from the inside again, installed my Warn rear bumper, and spent a couple of hours chasing exhaust leaks until I was satisfied that my jeep sounds the best a 2.5 can, I guess.
It's funny that I get better fuel mileage, and it can maintain highway speed better now, but just seems slower now that it isn't loud as heck anymore...

Deanna cannot catch a break... first her AC in the house died now her son's 97 Honda died...... Has a knock in the engine. Hey Andy I might be parting out a car like you soon! :greensmok

And if this doesn't work, a lot of times you can mail a check to them with the license plate of the car in the memo line and they'll accept payment that way. I had to run a couple in NJ because of the fact they were exact change only and did not accept EZ pass. I literally had to mail a check for $0.25 to avoid having a $100 fine.

Cost more in the check, stamp & envelope than the original toll.

I can't find a single shop willing to press a bearing out of a Ford Explorer rear hub...

I'll do it. Bring it here.

Just turned in graduation paperwork at school. Degree should be here in a few weeks, yay! Now on to the next...

I'm debating selling my truck and trading my car in on a newer diesel or even a bigger gasser truck. I'm going to list my truck and see what offers I get and go from there. Keeping up with a broke ass Jeep and 2 other vehicles is getting expensive.

What degree are you working on? and whats the next?

Go ahead and get you a Chevy, leave them Fords in the dust!!

Just ordered a new IDM and a set of gauges for my truck. Man, now that it runs right I LOVE it. Now I want new clear headlight housings, new wheels, and some other little stuff. The temptation to lift it and put 35's on is hard too...

Nice! Except for the lift and 35's part. I don't get that. Why lift a vehicle who's primary purpose is to tow. I'd like to have a diesel tow rig and bigger trailer some day.

Because a OBS ford is sexy as hell on 35's. If it was a Crew Cab Long Bed I would do it in a heartbeat.

No doubt it is nice looking. I guess it's the old in me coming out.
