Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Should go out on its own once the master cylinder is full and the ebrake handle is all the way down.

Yea there is a sensor on the e brake handle that might need addressing.

Anyone know how to reset the brake light in the dash on a 1994 XJ?

Master cylinder full, brakes bled, parking brake completely disengaged, then reverse and hit the brakes hard a couple times. That's what made the Rocket happy.

there's a pressure differential switch in the proportioning valve that triggers the light when you loose pressure in the front or rear brake circuit. If the brakes are bled and the lamp remains on, try tapping the proportioning valve with the handle of a screw driver-- it can "un-stick" the switch sometimes.

Thanks! I did the back-up-and-hit-the-brakes deal and it remains on. I'll look at the proportioning valve switch when I can.

Good news is the brakes feel and work better than ever.

My faith in humanity is restored. Went to a meat and three in Nolensville, a small county town near us, for dinner. After dinner I went to pay and handed the guy an AMEX card. Turns out they don't take AMEX. So I reach for my wallet to get a different card and got a pocket full of air. I realized I left it my wallet at home. The guy behind the counter told me just to come back later to settle up - which took me by surprise. But moreso, the guy behind me in line took my bills from me and paid for us. The counter guy even gave the girls a free cookie.

That's a nice way to end a day. I miss the friendliness and openness of a small town.

Nice! That doesn't happen often anymore.

Family reunion weekend at the country house in Aiken.

Found a 2001 XJ 4x4 4.0L 5spd with 140K on it that will hopefully be mine tomorrow :-)

Soon up for sale is a 1999 XJ 4X4 2.5L 5spd with 310K on it.

I attended a wedding. It was the most disastrous wedding I've ever attended. Everything started late. The huge tent that the reception was supposed to be held inside of pretty much blew away. A storm rolled in half way through the wedding and started pouring rain. There were 150 chairs set up. Maybe 25 people attended. When the Bride and Groom were supposed to walk down the aisle after they were married the crowd was supposed to release butterflies. They forgot to hand out the butterflies so we all stood in the rain while they handed out butterflies... Then the butterflies were mostly dead and wouldn't fly...

It was great.

On Sunday I had my middle daughters 11th b-day pool party.

Today, I'm back at work.
