Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Wheeling URE in the AM!

What's up with that? Half my yard is Ga clay.

You should see the land where mom and dad have a house right north of Aiken. It's both!

On Saturday morning I smacked myself in the face with the hook on 3" ratchet strap. I have a lovely blackened eye now.

Saturday evening I crossed over to the dark side.

Sunday I fixed the baby Jeep.

Now, I just need to regear both axles and I'll enjoy driving my green Jeep again.

Finally got the '73 scout gone. So there's a little more grass to mow now. Of course now I need to take this money and put it into the crew cab MJ as well as try to hunt down a chevy D-60 front end that isn't a gazillion bucks and then spend half a gazillion bucks to build it.

Worked on making a 'fence' across my back patio. The dogs (we have 3 danes and a pit) track a tremendous amount of dirt onto the porch and therefor into the house...so I built a fence out of sod pallets I snagged for free in order to create a much smaller ingress/egress point. So far it's working well. Plus I can use this to make elevated plant shelves and an herb garden for the wife.

During this week I will be cutting some of these ( I have about 30 of them) down to make a bar on my back patio as well. I have $11.95 invested in the whole project thus far. This winter the back yard should be much more suited for parties and the like.

I was at Home Depot buying some new diagonal cutters and wire strippers when I decided to see if they had a 1/8" ferule/ compression sleeve for my boost gauge. I had to cut the line after it had been tightened down and used, so I needed one new one. I go to plumbing and find the board of brass fittings when an employee walks up and asks if he can help. I say sure, I need a 1/8" brass compression sleeve. He had no idea what that was and went and found someone else. The 2nd person came over and asked why I was looking in plumbing, it would be in a different department. I asked him why there were so many brass fittings and things in he plumbing area and he told me those were in the wrong area. Yeah, the big board full of 100's of fittings got accidentally got placed in the plumbing section 10+ years ago when the store opened. Then the 3rd guy gets there and I tell him it's for a boost gauge on my truck. He says they won't have it, I need to go to autozone because "They're awesome! They'll have anything you'll ever need for a car! That is automotive grade, it's a heavier duty than anything we have." My favorite part about this was that I knew the 3rd guy from years ago and he is always liking my wheeling pictures on FB and has some Bro'd out Xterra.

So, I go by O Reilly's on the way home and buy a pack of 4 for $2.69.

The only job requirement that Lowes has is that you are able to breath and walk.

There's literally ZERO training in any department. If the guy in the Electrical department knows anything about electrical stuff it's because he was an electrician back in the day and now he works at Lowes.

.

Fixed it for you...there's a guy at one of ours with an O2 tank and in a wheelchair.

Went to a friends wedding last night with Glenn and his better half. Had a good celebrating two good people getting hitched. Thanks for the beer last night afterwards and the breakfast this morning Glenn!

This afternoon was unfortunately spent at the funeral for my boss's wife, who passed away this past week from a very aggressive cancer. They had been married for 43 years. She had been suffering since early March, went through 5 weeks of daily chemo treatments, and got the all clear about month ago. Two weeks ago she started feeling bad again and got the news it had come back, and spread all over. Things like this really make you stop and think about what's really important in life.

I started to tear down my front end to put the new coil spacers in so my ride height is proportional. I had noticed that there was a little "rubbing" noise at Harlan when I was in 4x4, so while I was jacked up I pulled the diff cover off to check on things with the locker. Right now I can barely spin the hubs, and it just binds up. Not sure what the deal is. I'm thinking that I might toss the tires back on, leave the cover off and have my wife back the Jeep out of the garage a few feet just so that I can watch what is happening under the cover. I can't imagine running it with the cover off and no fluid would do any damage if I only move it 20 or 30 feet.

Was good to see you again my friend. Thanks for the room! The wedding was awesome! Thanks for the case too. Now I have to get this damn thing together so I can be driving a 5 speed xj again! Not to mention the Civic that needs attention and the big jeep......

You will be fine.

Only Glenn would go to a wedding and bring home Jeep parts....

.....actually, probably most of us would, given the chance!!!

I suppose I could just jack up the rear tires, put all 4 corners in the air, put it in 4Lo and it would do the same thing, wouldn't it...hmm....

I felt bad too. We had talked about it for a couple of weeks, and I told him i'd have it back together for this weekend. Completely forgot all about it! Wound up having to put it together after breakfast Sunday morning right before he left.

Made a nice way to keep my ammo cans organized in the back of the jeep. Just need to figure out the best way to secure the entire thing to the floor but at the same time keep it removable.
