Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I have a 96 Cherokee so it wont do me any good. So i may go with the zj one if it is better then what i currently have! Also interested in a rear disc brake conversion too.

Maybe someone was looking for one.... :twak: What does it take any moe a 2x4? :dunno:

holy carp! i wish it would just stop raining for like 2 months straight! i have a ton of stuff i want to do, and haven't been able to accomplish anything aside from what i can do on the computer from the couch for a little over 3 weeks! i was way too cold, and then it warmed up a tad, but started raining, and hasn't stopped for days! it's startin to piss me off! if i ever get out of school and get a real job, i'm buying a house, and if there's not a garage, i'm gonna build one. this blows hardcore donkey junk...

Working out of the parking lot of your apartment complex in the rain lost it's fun? lol.

well, now i'm renting a trailer in the country, but the driveway isn't much better than the parking lot was, except that i don't have people trying to sell me crack while i'm under my jeep. i just wanna ride/work on my go kart, but it's just to wet and cold. i need to work on my jeep a little bit, but again, wet and cold.

finally got around to installing the factory tire carrier I pulled at the boneyard about 3 weeks ago. I replaced the two brass bushing thingeys on the swingout arms and reinforced them with "big-ol' washers" and hope to see it hold a 33" tire for a while before the universe implodes from the weight-- we'll see.

I'll throw out some pics if I ever get around to charging the camera batteries.....

Went to pick the Jeep up this morning from the body shop for the radiator replacement. Got there and they were just starting to tear into it. Since I know the guy who's done my body work, I ended up giving them a hand doing the swap so I could get back on the road. Ended up getting a thicker radiator this time than the one they put in when they were doing the repairs, so i'm optimistic that it will last longer this time.

Went downtown to see the local hockey team play tonight and got a pretty good deal on tickets. $16.50 got me a ticket to the game, unlimited bud light with 1 red bull & vodka for the hour before the game, then once again the hour after the game at one of the bars around the corner from the arena. Met up with some friends at the bar and had a great time. Wish I didn't have to be at work in the morning or i'd still be out!

Picked up a C-Rok Steering Box brace at pull a part for $9, Installed a new heavy duty tie rod, and switched out a rear leaf pack that had way more lift than the other. Hopefully I get my CB radio installed tomorrow.

Mark came over to do some wrenching. We decided against swapping the steering box and went to the second item of swapping in some cloth seats with manual bases to replace my worn out power seats.

Mark says "why don't we check the floor pan to see what kind of work it needs." Many will remember the March '09 Windrock ride on trail 22 when we smelled something burning. The rear passenger floorpan above the muffler was rusted through to the point where the carpet was smoldering and melted Olivia's toy binoculars. So we were going to see what all it looked like.

Oh man, we should have just left everything alone. Removing the carpet revealed a severely rusted rear pass floor pan to the point where you can see the front spring mount from inside the vehicle. Not good. Even worse is the fact that all the other floor sections have holes in them too but not as bad. Just a lot of pinholes in the fronts.

So we set the new seats in incase I need to move the rig. I clean up, come inside, and go online to Quadratec to look at the replacement floor pans they now offer. After catching my breath, I realize I 've got to save some coin to do this job. Each pan is $95 x 4 pans. Good news is they are contoured and stamped just like the original floor so fit should be good.

My truck has been stored inside for at least the last six months and the carpet was wet in several places. Yuck!

Good news is my oil pressure looks really good.

Oh yeah, Mark also found a crack in the frame just forward of the steering box. Man, I have good luck. You better not stand near me in a lightening storm.

HaHa. That crack is exactly why I was so happy to find a C-Rok Steering box brace at pull a part. Cost $9! Its a $85 part that actually works well. I am going to try to get it installed tomorrow. Hoping I save myself from getting a crack like you have.

I ahve a 95 I'll sell cheap! I need a new trailer so that should give you an idea of what to offer ed. :yelclap:

I have one you can pull behind a lawn mower. Deal!

retrofitted a '96 brake master and booster to my '92!...3 words NIGHT AND DAY my friends, night and m-fing day.

Got a brand new 20 gallon air compressor off e-bay and a lot of Craftsman air tools (impact wrench, air hammer, air ratchet) for $75 total...yes total. Check out Tadd Liquidation in Lebanon.

Anyway, got them home and used the air hammer to break out the bolt in my frame. Made short work of that and got my rear springs attached and bolted in. Put on the 31" MTs I had waiting on it, installed my rear drive shaft, got the garage cleaned up, put a battery in the XJ, drove it into the driveway (first time it has moved since early November), turned it around and parked it back in the garage so I can start the front.

Also, ordered new shocks for both the ZJ and the WJ and got a lead on some JK shocks for my XJ.

Well Shady at Best Fabrications is at it again. I started making my flip/clocking ring for my D300:

It's drilled to flip it for drivers side drop and clocked for 2 positions. Now I just need to cut a hole on the inside and trim the outside. I'm closer to getting the d300 in. Wahoo. I also got a 231 front yoke installed on the rear output of the D300 so I can put a CV shaft on it.

Thanks for looking
