I was talking about the water crossing. I have a set of shorter shocks that I am going to try. I have some of the materials needs to make some limiting straps but will probably put those on the next XJ.
The clips at the base of the spring are so soft. Problem is I lose the spring at the top as well. Then the spring flops over & out. Shorter shocks will work for now & I got cheap ones since they are some what temporary.

Ours was hovering 120 on Hwy 99. Shots fired call. Dumbasses actually going TOWARD the danger. :explosion
Second time was a couple months later on a test run near Hanford. Got a fully loaded Caprice with two occupants up over 150. After that was either riding with friends or straight shots through NM in my old Spirit bouncing off the 120 peg. I dun do that chit anymore. :read:
