My "Hero" Blog

Hell yeah Sean, Itd be nice to finally meet ya!

Mike, do you mean chopping down my mounts so they sit lower? Im not sure if lowering it would help in this case. :dunno:

Heres a super crappy rough sketch of an idea I have. The blue would be a metal sleeve around the bolt, welded to the bracket. The green would be a triangular gusset welded to the bracket and to the bottom of the sleeve.

I dont really like that idea because of the amount of leverage that it would put on the mounts (that are already hacked up).. But i can't seem to find any other options at this point.

No i was talking about lowering the entire sway bar itself but looking back now (i was on my phone before) i don't think that will fix it, some _/- shaped links will prolly work best for you.

But i'm with jon on ditching the whole dang thing, and making sure your caster is within spec as i see stock uppers so it most likely isn't, which can cause deathwobble.

I honestly dont think I need one, but my parents think I do. If I had the choice, I would leave it as it is right now. But according to them, I need to figure it out by this weekend or the heep is staying home. :tear:

Hopefully I can figure something out!

That sucks... I didn't use one on my XJ. You can hardly notice a difference

It depends on the setup. Mine is really stable without it but I like to run one on the street.

I have been in some XJs that feel like they are going to roll over going around a corner to quickly.

I went with the JCR Offroad extentions, no installed yet, so I can keep the discos. Peace of mind when I have the family in the jeep.

dude if the parents are going nuts just throw a dam bolt and space it out with washers, its just a sway bar. like we said, you don't even need it. it'll last a long time DD status with a longer bolt and washers for spacers etc.

With pretty decent to awesome shocks, no swaybar needed. Just realize its not a racecar and drive it accordingly.

Well the plan for this weekend is to just weld it up and throw a sleeve on the bolt as a spacer. Ill probably end up throwing some gussets on there too so it stays put. Thanks for the thoughts and ideas guys!

So since the rear of the jeep is sitting up so high (a lot higher than I thought) I am hoping to pull some leafs out and replace them with stock xj's. Found some stocker leafs just up 80 from me. Hopefully I can snatch them before I head home for the weekend!

Oh, and Friday can't seem to come fast enough. :flame:

i have one thin leaf i took out of each of my national packs you can have, prolly around 30-36" long
I think my lady has some wood in her yard i can pick up for friday.

It's ok I don't feel like breaking anything either. I'm available after 12. I'll see if anybody else wants to head out there tomorrow. I haven't played on the new playground yet. You should invite Ryan.. Wanna say meet at PC round 12:30-1:00?

Connor - sounds good to me!

Jon - just friday and friday night. You should join!

Was thinking about going out there with you guys tomorrow night too. I havent been there so where off latrobe is it? Im in cameronpark.

The way I usually get there would be to get off at Iron point/bidwell (grab in n out) and go south down scott rd, then right on white rock (toward PC), then left back onto scott rd, and then left onto Latrobe rd - thats right where the pavement ends/dirt starts. I have never gone in through the east side.
