Meet-N-Greet(10-16) Old Stage run (10-17)

I may sit out with you on Eagle Rock... im still nervous after breaking my back window on that thing..

haha. alrite. well i guess the plan is... if people want to run eagle rock, we will wait in the big field by the stream and build a fire and maybe cook some breakfast/lunch depending on what time it is. maybe have a cold one... except you NOOB... gotta be 21 buddy! ill bring you some root beer.

Ill bring my own.. You think bein under 21 stops me?? =]

if we can get count, maybe chip in for dogs, or everyone bring some shit to eat/cook?

(sorry, its either that or you all watch me eat. dont eat alot, but when the time comes dont mess around)

Drinking and driving/drinking and driving on the trails is the same thing and it's all illegal.

Drinking/driving on the trails and under 21 is worse.

Not really cool to even joke about these things but I sincerely hope that Surf and 'Noob are.......

Drinking is to be reserved for AFTER a trail run.

Anyone blatantly drinking while wheeling with a NAXJA sticker displayed on their rig will have it removed by me personally. No, I'm not kidding.

an i will help you

I was not talking about drinking and driving.. believe me. If I were to get a DUI, my career would be over in a heart beat. I would rather NOT take that chance.

I'd think a Minor In Possession ticket would be a career ender......

Well it was beginning to sound like you and Surf were discussing it. Driving to the Eagle Rock area then hanging around in the clearing below it and kicking back cold ones still requires you drive back from there..... stone sober.

Keep it safe AND fun - leave the alcohol at home.

Just so there's no confusion:

http://www.naxja.org/html/bylaws.htm

NAXJA said:
Section 4: Member Conduct
  1. Members shall be bound by and shall act in accordance with these By-Laws, and such rules, regulations and standard procedures as the Board of Directors may adopt hereunder from time to time.
  2. Each Member shall conduct himself/herself in public in a respectable manner at all times, both during and outside of Corporation activities. Public conduct which, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, reflects badly on the Corporation or the off-highway community shall constitute grounds for possible suspension or expulsion from the Corporation.
Article IX – Sponsored Events and TripsSection 1: Definition
  1. A Sponsored event is by definition an event in which NAXJA formally recognizes the Event as a NAXJA Event, and the Event is attended by at least one Director. Chapter Events must meet the same criteria. Formal recognition of an Event will be established by Board of Director voting procedures, and subsequent publication on the NAXJA website.
Section 2: Event Regulations
  1. Each Event shall have an assigned Trail Master. The Trail Master shall lead the Event always with safety in mind. The Trail Master shall have ultimate decision-making authority for all Event decisions, unless a higher-ranking Director is present at the Event, in which case that Director has unilateral decision-making authority. All event Attendees shall follow Trail Master/Director instructions at all times.
  2. An Event shall consist of only the off-road trail rides or other specifically designated activities. The Event begins at the time of the pre-run Driver’s Meeting or functional equivalent, and ends when the group returns to a designated point. For multi-day events, this means that the Corporation will not organize or coordinate camping or other activities, except as a service to the Members. The Event itself is limited to the organized trail rides.
  3. If no Chapter or National Director attends a scheduled Event, that event is automatically cancelled as a formal Event sanctioned by the Corporation. Any further activity by Members or others shall not be affiliated with the Corporation.
  4. Each Attendee is ultimately responsible for his or her own safety. Safety concerns shall be brought up to the Trail Master or an attending Director immediately.
  5. Should the Trail Master or any attending Director determine that any Guest or member is posing a risk to safety, or simply to the enjoyment of the Event itself, that Guest or member may be asked to leave via escort provided it is deemed safe to do so by the attending ranking Director and/or Trail Master.
  6. All participants shall be defined as an Attendee, either Member or Guest. At no time will any other vehicle be allowed to join any Event. The Trail Master and/or attending Director shall enforce this policy without exception.
  7. Attendees shall notify the Trail Master or an attending Director prior to leaving the group for any reason. While NAXJA Directors cannot physically restrain any Attendee to prevent them from leaving, a safety assessment shall be made prior to approving any such action.
  8. Attendees shall adhere to Tread Lightly principles at all times. This includes the environment and also the Attendee’s vehicle. Attendees shall not put their vehicles at undue risk of damage that would potentially delay the progress of an Event. The Trail Master and/or attending Directors shall monitor Tread Lightly principles, and failure to comply may result in an Attendee being dismissed from an Event.
  9. Alcoholic beverages and other controlled substances are prohibited while driving on or off-road. This includes consumption prior to an Event. Failure to comply will result in dismissal from the Event and shall constitute grounds for termination of Membership.
  10. Attendees bringing pets shall control them at all times.
  11. Attendees shall exercise discretion in the use of vulgar, profane, and/or potentially offensive language during the course of all Events. In the event of a complaint regarding language, the determination of the Trail Master or attending Director shall be final and binding, and shall be rendered impartially.
Wether or not it is a sponsored trip is beside the point. It sez what it sez...

JDXJ did roll his rig on it... :(

QUOTE]

Ill just text instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2D3hB278Gc

But seriously, I was figuring we would all run saran, then the guys that want to run eagle rock would, while the ones that wanna sit it out enjoy a beer. I dont see anything wrong with that. I can assure you, that if I WAS going to run eagle rock, I would not drink before running that trail. Its hard enough sober.

And I am sorry, but if NOOB is old enough to fight fires and save lives, he has the RIGHT to drink any alcoholic beverage he desires.

Anyone old enough to DIE for their country also deserves the right to drink as well.

Just... not while driving a vehicle.

Just... not while driving a vehicle because that is the law as it is also against the law to drink while underage, no matter the situation.

Fixed that for ya bro

Fixed that for ya bro

Is this coming from someone that didnt drink a drop of beer while in HS or in College?

Because those statements are coming from a guy that has seen 3 of his friends die in iraq, before they were even able to enjoy a cold beer in a bar with their buddies back home.

leave it alone dude. no ones drinking, and if they are, it will be after the run.

nope, was a lush and did drugs in high school. also prior service that served in the 1st one. first two years in army couldnt drink, then i went to Germany :)

Well thank you for you're service. And im not trying to stir up any dust.

I just believe there are some laws that are meant to PROTECT US, And there are some laws meant to control us.

Kind of like the govt trying to shut down Moab to OHV use... Makes no sense, and they arent protecting a thing... But control, they will have it.

We could talk about this all day and go in circles... I just believe that all armed forces, including police, firefighters, and other public service figures that put their lives on the line every day, should have the right to drink.

Since In4 set this up, everyone PM him and let him know what you ARE bringing. he can make a list and post it up.
