GUNS & AMMO

I'm nto sure how long, my Enfield came from Century as well. They get the lions share of imports to be sure.

The 1918 date would be about the series, not production. Too nice a stamping for a production date, I haven't found a cross reference of that yet, search around a bit and you should be able to either find it or run across somebody that can look it up from your serial number.

According to that wiki listing the historical piece places them during the 20's and used for a period of time then after that alternative .22 trainer. Who knows where this thing sat for so long after that during another major war and two minor ones to end up in my granddads hands.

It looks pretty mechanically sound and taken care of minus the wood degradation. Not sure what I will do with it, not a big collector or old time pieces I do want to go out and put a .22 round through it in the open space by my house. :)

Now I am not quite sure if this is new, maybe some have seen it, maybe it will intrigue you just the same. It is new to me and just came across it today and thought many strange thoughts. In some ways I thought that it is unique.

From a "Have to have cool toys and would be fun to mount on a vehicle during the great Zombie Outbreak or just to have that toy to start up conversations with your shooting buddies." in that case it would be cool.

From a practical standpoint, WHY? There is better firearms to use this idea with. An AR is not hard to hold, one hand with the butt-stock resting on your privates and you should not be in too much danger.

Here is a video on an ATV

Then I saw the price tag,

Uh, NO, maybe if the decimal was to the left one space maybe.

Oh well someone will enjoy it that has money to spare. :gee:

yeah I've seen that online before and thought it was a waste of money unless you have an AR thats full auto.

If you've got a class 3 then it'd be fun, but i think it'd be boring as hell on any of our semi-auto rifles.

Picked up my wife's new .22LR weapon today. The deal on the SIG didn't work out so I went to Sportsman's Warehouse and got a Ruger 10/22. I then added a Hogue stock, extended magazine release, a picatinny rail, and a Ruger 25rnd extended magazine for it.

Of course, while I'm waiting at the coounter on my background check so that I can purchase my pink .22 rifle some guy has to show up and buy this guy:

Thats a cool little ruger

I was drooling over the Walther G22 while at the gun store, I really liked that bad boy.

My brother (a cop) has a fully automatic .22. Well the department does. We have taken it out and played with it. It has this big drum type magazine. Holds about 200 rounds.

I asked him what in the world they would ever use something like that for. He said mounted on a tripod it's extremely accurate and will bore right through a car door. They don't really use it but it's fun to play with.

Now that looks like a lot of fun! Nostalgic and auto. Seems like a good combination. Though those .22s would be awesome. No vid of that thing?

Size matters............... You can have the little AR. I'll stick to the big one.

wheres the rest of it

I have 1 inch rings that came with the gun but I am going to a 30mm scope tube size with the scope I have picked out. I have the rings on order along with a bipod. The scope will be a bit pricy so I am having to wait until I have funding. Should have it all together by the end of June. Then its out for some long range sight ins. I've shot both the AR-50 and nearly all of Barrett's line. I prefer the Barrett but at nearly twice the price I'll shoot this one for a while.

Is that yours Larry? If so I'll buy a box of ammo if I can come shoot it.

Bought it about a month ago. 660 grains of authority with every trigger pull. My only gripe with any of the fifties is weight. This one tips the scales at about 34lbs stripped, probably 40 with all the goddies. I'll have it fully equipped by the end of June. If I can swing it I might come to the Fall Fling. Maybe we could sneak off somewhere and pulverize some sandstone. OOPs would that piss off SUWA....I'd hate to upset some back packing evironazi.
