GUNS & AMMO

Out of all of em in my drawer i always manage to grab that one. :dunno:

Mine is elusive, I see it once every few months and then it disappears again. I'm convinced some sort of gnome like or perhaps elvish creature lives in my garage(or possibly the parts Jeep outside) and randomly moves my tools around, perhaps using them to construct a gateway to the underworld, or middle earth.

I think he also might be the one to hide my comcast remote during season finalies.

People shoot close because 99% of shootings take place within 15 feet.

Nothing wrong practicing for further distance, especially if you are competitively shooting but honestly. If you have to shoot someone past about 30 ft you probably don't need to shoot them in the first place. Obviously there are exceptions.

I was about to say that. :greensmok

If you think what you use a handgun for, unless you are a LEO, competitor it is for home/personal defense.

Most pistol I shoot at 10-15 yards for aimed and quick fire double-tap practice, and play with aimed shots at 35 yards. (also most indoor ranges only go to 35 yards)

Only magnums like my .44 magnum I have used at 75-100 yards with a pistol scope mind you. I will use my new AR pistol for up to 100 yards. (even though the ballistic say pretty accurate up to 300 yards which is a lot for a pistol with no magnification)

Play with how you want to play, there is no rules stating what range you can shoot a pistol.

Well, I gave the Marlin a new looks today. There were a lot of scratches and a few nicks in the prior finish, and I wanted to redo the thumb groove to fit better on my fat hands. After a good amount of sanding and sanding and sanding, I restained it. I couldnt find the lighter "grey" i was looking for, so ended up settling with a black, might strip down and redo once I can find some good "grey".
Also added a lil thicker pad to the back for some incresed length.

Purdy in black...............you going to go all cowboy tactical and add a front quad rail???

I shoot pistols at about 5ft because any farther away I can't hit anything. :D

Tuthfully though, about 10yrs is where I place myself for shooting at things like beer bottles, soda cans, and the like. I also like shooting clays at the same range with a pistol. Basically stuff that gets destroyed because shooting at a paper target all day is kind of boring after awhile. I still need to make my little reactive target tree like Mike's because thats definitely fun.

I worked a lot on basic fundamentals while in El Paso. Just paying attention to breathing, sight picture, and trigger squeeze. I find that with me being so new to pistols I tend to just rush my shoot and subsequently miss. I was shattering beer bottles at close to 50ft by the end of the day. It felt good once I started being more consistent. I've been watching a lot of top shot and now top guns lately and want to start working on setting up some pistol challenges for myself like what they do.

Bed liner? Get any on your hootus?

But seriously, it looks good. The rifle, not your hootus, that is.

Love that rifle!

I don't love Zombies, I just love killing them. :D

I think Mike needs to paint it desert tan or flat green because everything is cooler in those colors.

Or black, desert tan, and flat green, cuz that's coolest.

I knew it was stain, I read the thread. Seriously, it looks good.

+1 for that. Still not a fan of the black though.

I'm cool with black rifles.

And a "cowboy black rifle" might be interesting done well. Of course that means no rails and other bullshit, those are illegal on lever guns. Give me a Lyman site, the previously mentioned stain, and a saddle ring.
