GUNS & AMMO

My future new upper for an AR;

ZEL Customs .50 cal upper

..........no, not really. For $2000+ on the price, cheaper than a BARRETT but still out of my league.

Neat concept, not very "light" I would think to lug around, but if you are a good shot only need one round anyway........ no worrying about a 3 round burst............. :confused1

I like the side load magazine there, reminds me of the old British machine gun.

On a side note though, that Remington 700 is bad arse looking. I want a .308 one.

How did you paint it like that? I'm still developing my weapon painting skills. Until I get it down I'm only doing the stock, but I'd love to paint the entire SKS kind of like that.

A .308 set up like that would be a dream to shoot... probably wouldn't be much more felt recoil than a .223. There's a lot to say about a good brake.

I did a base coat of tan, then shot patches of brown and green. Laid some leaves I cut off bushes and trees over it in different directions and shot the opposite color on top of it (brown on green, green on brown, random over tan, letting patches of each go untouched as well). Then I took pine needles, splayed them out in my hand and shot a light coat of all 3 colors (not all in the same spot) over the leaf prints to give it some texture. Then a light coat of green over the whole thing to blend it together, with a little overspray of brown in the light tan spots and tan in the dark brown spots to blend it a little more.

Don't worry guys I ain't here to stay, just saw a gun thread and had to post.

P. S. Skully those side fed uppers are known to have feeding issues.

That 700 is some sweet gun porn. There's no way I can put that much money into mine. Hell, I feel like I splurged on a $70 scope...

Sweet gun.

If it works, lasts a little while, and you are happy with it, don't knock it.

Matt

Inside joke......:D i didn't pay much more than he did i was just busting his balls.

Thanks, Matt. Flex just seeks validation in every thread. Since he has to post in all of them...

At least I can take solace that nobody will take him seriously.

And the fact that I will probably out shoot him... :D

I fired roughly 200 rounds through the new FNP-9 today. It shoots good, but I don't. :)

Mike CZ-75 was a nice shooting pistol. I really liked the feel if it. I think that'll be the next pistol, but in .45ACP and a With .22 LR conversion.

Nice of my picatinny rail to show up AFTER I went shooting. Now I have a forward hand grip. The 30rnd magazine forces me to place it farther forwards than I want it but I'm hoping that once my 20rnd mags get here that I can slide it back a bit. Its still comfortable though, I just "cleared" my house with it and found it to be a lot better than w/o it. :D

Ya go figure huh? Lol looks good on there.

The cz is where it is at man. Next pistol will be cz for sure.

Well I just made an impuls buy to SG-Works out of CA. I guess its time to bring my SKS into the 20th Century. :D

Why don't you give them a hint of what it is?

Pretty good reviews of it.

Here it is next to a SBR GALIL I think???

Sweet kit for $200 smackers!

Makes me want to track down an SKS just to do this to it.

I think I'm going to try and get another SKS because I'd like to have one thats all original, I think they're great little rifles.

I like that with the bullpup conversion the thing will be just over 30" long with the 20" barrel. Lets me keep the longer barrel for accuracy but shorten the weapon significantly. I've already got some ideas floating in my head about a way to extend the rail system farther along the barrel to act as a hand guard, lett me put the folding front sight farther out, and hide the barrel a bit.

I'd be careful about that, a rail system beyond the barrel needs to be very well built, you don't want to end up having it break free while you're doing mag dumps, that's how you end up with extra holes ;)

The Yugo 59/66 is a nice package to start with, if you can find a rough one I'd drop it into that stock so that your an remove the grenade launcher and get a brake instead.
