Yes, you have me dead to rights: LJ is not an offical designation and I should have clarified it as an '04-'06 Wrangler Unlimited.
Do you get the same image pop into your head if you hear Ferrari 365 GTB/4 as you do Ferrari Daytona?
Al Bundy quoted the same thing I saw on the final CARS law.
And for all of you that are worried about running out of parts, I have a VW that is 20+ years older than any XJ and parts are readily available.
TJ Unlimited or TJ LWB would be fine.
I knew the answer to this because a friend of mine owns a shop that restores old race Ferraris older than the 365 GTB/4.
I am not getting my point accross. So they can sell them as seperate assemblies but not as a complete drivetrain? Now isn't that a little ridiculus? So a FWD car that has a transaxle cannot be sold because you can't seperate the transmission from the axle?

Now that they have spent 1 billion dollars (up to 250,000 vehicles) in a week and are seeking an additional 2 billion or more this could end up affecting potentially over 1 million cars being sent to the crusher. How will this affect the salvage yards (assuming they can sell the drivetrain as parts or individual assemblies) now? Will it flood the market depressing salvage prices?
Surely you are not comparing a car that sold over 21 million copies with a serious cult following with that of the XJ which only sold 4 million and at best has a fair amount of enthusiasts. And of all the stuff you can get for a VW aftermarket where are the same parts for an XJ? I can no longer get nearly all body seals/moldings/etc.. for an XJ.
