Yet another... Build thread for an xj on 40s and one tons in norcal

You can have the a arm I built off the wj, you will need your own heims as they got reused. True 4 link with triangulated uppers went in with the 14b swap. If you are ever cruising by patterson it is all yours.

Zachandandy- that would be great . I have 1.25" heims so that would be awesome. What bushings did you use at the frame side.

Yeah those where those 33s i grabbed for a family friends xj. He wamted to come down from 35s...

I live in Modesto and can grab those arms for you jon! I go to Patterson all the time for work lol

that would be awesome Marcel!

Thanks Zach and Andy!

One last question, was the heim RHT or LHT? Also, did you use a A arm spacer with this setup, or did you just build a new double shear mount and call it good?

I read your thread, you used heims at the frame side? how did that work out for on road driving?

Does anyone know if the ignition switch is the same on the late models as the early models or is it different?

I hate rebuilding shocks.
They gave me 400/100 shim stacks. I guess thats what I am running now. Pretty stiff. screwed up one shock past repair and the other two are questionable but I am running them. Next time ill just go coilovers.

pretty sure my clockspring is bad, and my ignition switch. have all the symptoms.

marcel, did you ever grab that A arm off zach and andy ?

hey can you sync with him please and ill owe you one?

thanks man!

A little late, but ign. is different late model vs HO and renix.

I swapped out the ignition switch tonight on the red beast. and the turn signals stopped working. eventually figured out the plug in the back of the turn signals had barely backed out while pulling the shrouds off the column. thankfully it was that easy.

swapped out the TPS and the spark plugs too. the plugs were rusty as hell and gapped to .055 and a .06, super huge gap and looked older than any plug I've ever seen, so I swapped in some NGK plugs I had for it. I was very surprised to see a gap that large, not sure what that would do.

I guess I need to install the ruffstuff traction bar soon.

So i got one of these to help out with throttle response with the 40s. Its actually pretty noticable which is nice

Also installed 9 of these doors i built for my brothers warehouse.

Got the weld on hinges from barnes and weld on handles from grainger, all the steel from del paso

Painted them with plasti Dip.

So the main thing that is keeping me from sleeping in the back of Tiny Dancer is that the damn thing is on 40s and a 8" lift in the rear, along with building a 10" tall rear storage setup after pulling the rear seat and a 3" pad or a 12" air mattress, I'm going to have to like manage to hurdle my way up about 4 feet straight up. thats fine when you are sober. but after drinking beer and whiskey around the camp fire all night I might kill myself trying to get into the thing.

that being said, I love the idea of pulling out the cooler and a camping box, and rolling out a pad and being done setting up camp on trips like the rubicon where you are unpacking/packing every day.

This is a goal of mine for the gorilla. (Tiny dancer.... Hahaha great name).

Sounds like you need to build in a flip down tail gate when you build your storage platform. It is deffinately on my list.
