- guys will get you to Harlan no matter what
-A 2-3 ledge can be done in a longbed MJ without dragging the bed
-There is a radio tower cable on the trail to Lions Den that can screw your mirror
- wheels better than rigs 3x the cost
-Big booms are more fun when Lee Greenwood is singing
-You are not allowed to bring a Jeep and not wheel it
-It is possible for Andy to attend a crawl
-Gin and Juice makes the girls dance
-Optima batteries will die with no warning
-Both driveshafts can let go at once
-Sport quads are scary fun
-Bacon really is the best dish
-The crawl gets better every year

Nick will ride back down the mountain in a "dirty" cherokee.....ha, ha!:moon:When his original ride's battery dies.

If you want it in Harlan, Amazon prime it, cause they don't have it in town...unless you order the day before a holiday, then you are screwed.

Class A RV's have a ton of storage...it was like a clown car of stuff that kept coming out of RedHeeps.

You can win as much in one raffle ticket as you can in 5 or 6, but people only remember the guy that 'kept' winning stuff.

Even at 36 years old, being surprised with a birthday cake made me feel like a kid again! (It was awesome! Thanks to all involved!)

The cake is still good 5 days later.

Going wheeling on your birthday, even when you break, still makes for a great day.

15 years later, is still around and swag is awesome.

I don't remember everyone I met at Tellico in 2001, but I met one person at NACfest and one person in Harlan that I hadn't seen since then and didn't remember meeting before...but they both remembered me drinking Woody's beer.

DirecTV in your RV is a win with a 20 month old.

Having a 27 in TV and DVD player working off an inverter while traveling is a win with a 20 month old.

My daughter likes wheeling, about 4 hours at a time per day.

I know Hwy 160 in both VA and KY and know now to stay away while towing.

Late model XJ's on the trail between Hobag and myself will most likely have to be towed back to camp.

The "people of Wal-Mart" are strong at the Harlan Wal-Mart.

the little shepard trail can be done at 30-35mph with 10psi in your tires and no swaybar
i like rollcages
harlan fireworks are still badass
people will go out of there way to help you (thanks again Tim...)
pulling up a chair to an EOR campfire is always worth it
a JK on your turn will draw a massive crowd, and will not disappoint
mirrors are stronger than doors
check your lugnuts before every trip

2) I will do another sunset/night ride to Hawkeye Overlook in 2015.
3) No one is left behind on the trail when things don't go quite to plan.
4) Trying new trails and finding great photo spots is a lot of fun.
5) I gained 3 lbs that week but it was worth it.
6) Thank you to all the people who made everything happen.
7) Thank you to all of those that put up with my trail leading. I'm not good at it but at least I'm consistent.
8) Can't wait till next year.

Don't sell yourself short Ed! You did a great job, you were conscious of the group, and willing to get input from the riders if there was something that a majority really wanted to see or do. I'll follow you around anytime!

Alright so I'll go too...

1. Apparently, when setup by Rock Solid Fabrication, A Dana 44 Ring and pinion is stronger than even the best 33 spline axle shafts.
2. It takes approximately 599 out of 600 available HP to break a stock 14 bolt shaft on Your turn.
3. Having a cabin in Harlan is the ONLY way to go.
4. Getting woke up at 5 AM on Sunday morning Sucks!!!
5. Betty and Judy get along quite well together!
6. The Putney trail head has an undisclosed bomb range.
7. Haveing a "Mall crawler" is very helpful for grabbing groceries when you don't want to drive your trail rig.
8. The Harlan O'Reilly Auto Parts store is friggen awesome!
9. ORI still has trouble fixing struts.
10. Tire pressure gauges lie!

• I now know how much I missed wheeling with the gang
• I had fun following Ed around
• Leading a trail is a big responsibility that should not be taken lightly
• The crew is packed with talented folks
• The sunset ride can happen at least twice, and we will leave sooner!
• Stock springs on a budget lift SUCK, but will do the job
• A manual transmission is worth it's weight in gold on a down-hill ride

- Stump wants nothing to do with Mason Jar when it's wet.
- RC Crawlers are highly addictive and now I must acquire one.
- If I snored through the night (Like I usually do) my bunk mates won't say anything about it.
- The "road" to the top of the mountain requires 4-low.
- Ghetto trail fixes from 3 years ago will fail on Black Mountain.
- Flying a full sized flag from your CB antenna makes you feel like you're in a parade. (People waving and screaming "Hell YEAH!" from their car windows.)
- The town of Harlan has some 'special' people.
- I'll be back.

I wouldn't be opposed to doing a fall run up there with the DD. Maybe make it a weekend trip and check out some of the color changing? If there are enough people maybe rent one of the small cabins for the night if we're near Harlan, or just go in for a hotel room.

2- Brian Ho's electric smoker looks like an easy way to produce excellent smoked pork. The potluck dinner served up some spectacular food!
3- Little Jäger seems to enjoy breaking axle shafts.
4- Harlan is a lot more fun when it's dry, but the road up is dusty!
5- Having a spare jeep around is great. Trips into town and carrying 'supplies' up the mountain.
6- 'Ugly Truck' had a proper wheeling send off, rusty frame carnage and all!
7- Jim 'Beer Goggles' is a great spotter! Thanks again!
8- Rebecca wheels 'Floyd' just as hard as I do.

The key is you really have to rub it before you put it in, then when its done you have to take your time pulling it. Goes best between big soft buns.

2. I realized it's scary how long I have been going to events. 2004 was my first.
3. Macgyvr should be banned from buying raffle tickets. That guy wins everything.
4. It was great to see some old friends and make some new ones.
5. Apparently you can blow up both a front and rear driveshaft at the same time!
6. I-81 in Virginia is a really long, boring drive.
7. My wife has a new best friend, Clay. Although he might disagree.
