Well guys after 18 years and 265,000 miles of faithful hard service my little 4.0 is failing. Started knocking on Thrusday night and was diagnosed on Friday afternoon with either a cracked piston, broken skirt, or bad pin.
So, after years of saying I'm going Stroker motor when my engine kicks the bucket, the time has finally come to put my money where my mouth is. I know this will cost more than a reman or junkyard motor but I'm not trying to just throw money endlessly at this thing. I also want something reliable, I know a stroker won't go the distance that a reman will but I want something that will get me over 100,000 miles.
I do city and highway driving and do some towing. So I'm looking for suggestions for crate Strokers, currently leaning towards ATK/Mopar Performance, or if someone knows a good affordable engine builder in North Georgia preferably closer to Marietta, Ga please make a recommendation!
