Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I spent about 3 hours taking apart my rear suspension and reinstalling in order to move my shackles to a different hole in the relocation brackets. I have no clock in my garage (need to change that) and next thing I know, I'm putting tools away and it is 12:30 am. Going to be a long day at work with only 4 1/2 hours sleep.

I also learned that when I use a hammer to pound on metal in my garage, it keeps my wife awake upstairs....oops.

I think, with all the money I've spent on the Jeep, the $100 I spent on the HD Offroad shackle relocation brackets have been the best money spent! What a huge difference.

Spent several days near Charleston SC for a family reunion thing, caught a bunch of weird sea critters. Stingray, jellyfish, sea robin, and a shark. We are the shark, tasted excellent!

Time to get back to work on the jeep and racecar again

You'll never guess what I did this weekend. Worked!

Friday I scrapped my 99 for a measly $140. Needed the trailer back. Went to work that night. Saturday I went to the mudbog and had a good time in the morning watching a few guys race and jump the dam before work. Sunday I worked on the deck and sold a lawnmower before work. I'm about to order some stuff on Amazon to install on Wednesday-Thursday since I'll be off.

Next weekend I'm trying to go to W4W at Morris for at least 1 day before work.

I did a head gasket job for a buddy of mine on his '99 XJ. I think I have finally come to the realization that it's time to close up shop to any more outside work and finally focus on my own stuff for a change. there have been many plans for my XJ, but I rarely find the time to do it, and when I do find time, I'm just too drained to fool with it. Being stressed out all the time really, really sucks :banghead:

I think I'll also force myself to go have some fun away from any type of work on at least one weekend a month. A drive through the mountains in the Wrangler with the top off sounds pretty darned good right now!

WE will be driving through some trails soon my friend.... I owe you a drink! What's your poison?

Since I'm not a beer guy, a good strong margarita is usually my go-to drink to wind down. 4-5 of those and I'll be good and relaxed lol

SO I should pack the blender? And I thought you were a jack, jim or jimmy kind of guy....

No when I just want a sip now and then I'll do some Fireball or sour apple vodka. When I just want to relax and socialize, it's maragaritas. I make mine on the rocks, no salt, slightly heavy on the mix for a good sour flavor. You bring the tequila, I'll supply the rest. A pint will make quite a few drinks.

Who the hell is Jimmy? lol

Jimmy Walker Red.... SMH.... :banghead:

Done!

Decided to do the front brakes on the 1994 Cherokee. You have to love it when during reassembly, you realize the front pads are both for the passenger side. Ugh! A trip to the auto parts store and all is now together.

About to get to bed after about 36 hours up.

Got up about 8 on Saturday to spend a few hours with the family before going to Europe. Got to the airport for an uneventful trip to Chicago. The flight to Dublin boarded and took off from Chicago and about 30 minutes into the flight they announced that half of the bathrooms were not working so they sent us to New York. Once we landed, the put us on another aircraft and we left around midnight.

We were supposed to be in Dublin at 6:30 this morning. We ended up landing about 9:30 or so, then took almost 3 hours to clear customs and get my rental car. I drive to Belfast today to get some things done, and finally checked into my hotel in Dublin about 7:30 tonight. It's about 9:30 now, so I guess that makes it 37 1/2 hours since I last slept.

Despite all that, let me tell you, it is a freaking blast to drive a 6 speed on the wrong side of the street on unfamiliar roads. I've got a little Citreon DW4. Pretty fun little car. I really want to get a manual transmission car again now.

I've seen a bunch of the diesel Wranglers and Grand Cherokees over here.

Sometimes I really don't miss flying at all!

And manual transmissions are a lot of fun :)
