Got most of my bumper built yesterday. Just have to finish welding it up, add some more support, D-ring tabs and mount a fairlead for the winch.
All reassembled and reinstalled in the ZJ. Took it for a test drive and it works fine. I now have to figure out the shifter linkage. I'd read somewhere that I should be able to use the factory 249 linkage and I can tell you....you can't. The throw is way too short. I'll have to look into other options, but for now I just have it locked into 2wd.
I reused the stock linkage on my 96 ZJ, just had to swap shifter tabs from the 249 case to the 242 IIRC.

I think you are right sir.... My Jeep hates me! :kissyou:
You wouldn't just happen to have a picture of your linkage setup would you? Maybe I'm just overlooking something with ours.
I got a legal separation over the weekend!
I now own my house, 4 of the 5 Jeeps(kept all the XJ's, she didn't want them they are always broke down LOL!) and some bills to pay off!
She kept the JK and got half the equity out of the house and has no bills.
We have joint custody of our only minor child, and no child support either way

Re-tightened the bolts on the (Home-made) 1.25" body lift on the TJ. Replaced the blow fuses for the Power outlet (#17 under the hood) :repair:
Fixed the short that was blowing the fuse and getting ready for the first Uwharrie ride of the season!![]()
