Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Didn't do much this weekend. Got the ghost running with a new starter Saturday. Battery needs to be replaced. Did a little bit of diagnostic on the 98 xj with no luck. Went to dinner last night with my new friend. She actually came up to the shop Saturday morning and hung out and handed me stuff. That was nice. Fixed a door at her house today and went to go see "3 Days to Kill" this afternoon. All in all a good fun weekend. Now if I can just get green running so I can tag and insure her.

Went to Golden Mountain in Sparta, TN. Great park with lots of stuff for my Jeep and bigger, stock not so much. (I'm locked on 35's and 4.56's and walked everything i hit with my Claws). I fell in love with my tires this weekend, they hooked up on everything when other tires were packed with mud and slick.

Here are a few pics

My beautiful face

My buddies SAS'ed 4 runner on ORI's he just finished

This was at the top of a hard trail where there just wasnt a line. I was behind my friend here on 37's and he couldn't get any traction or what idea of a line we had. He pulled cable to make it up. When it was my turn i think i had the line (my tires walked up in the right spot) but i pulled cable just to be safe. The right side was just a big drop off with some sharp jagged boulders we didnt want to be laying on.

Some mild body damage and i think i bent my stock drag link... The front two tires are visually out of alignment and it looks like the camber is off too, but i think the drag link is bent giving the optical illusion. I'll find out this week and probably go with some UTK steering kit.

Why So Serious!

Nice rig. claws are my next pick after my Pro Comp MTs finally get too worn.

Headed north this weekend and did some wheeling up where there's still snow on the ground with a bunch of MWC friends. It was a great time and I'm glad I had the opportunity to go!!!! Those guys rock!

Well, 3 of the 4 of my Jeeps broke down this weekend :bawl:

The lower ball joints are out on the Commander(damn potholes after this rough winter)I will fix it next weekend

I started driving the 90 XJ and got the worst case of DW I have ever had in a XJ. I nearly rolled it twice on the freeway.

It turned out to be a loose RE track bar jamb nut, Bad inner TRE and a junk stabilizer. all fixed now.

I still haven't put the interior back into the red 94 Country so I can't drive that yet.

Its sad when your trail rig is the only thing running in the driveway LOL!

People ask me now that I am single why I still own 4 Jeeps, I tell them it takes that many to insure one is running! When I walk outside in the morning, I get in the one that the damn hood isn't up on LOL!

To quote woody... "owning one XJ, or two, or four, is no guarantee of 'having regular use of'..."

Too true :laugh2:

There have been days when I had two XJs, an MJ, and a 5 ton and only had half a running vehicle between all of them... and days where I had none. I had to walk to the parts store for a power steering pump a month ago.

First order of business when the snow finishes melting is getting everything back on the road. I am down to one running/driving vehicle at present and it is not a good thing.

Did you check the coil yet?

One of many reasons I don't mind paying monthly for a newer car. A lot less to worry about going wrong, and if it does, that's when the factory warranty kicks in and a free rental comes into play :)

Got a lot accomplished around the house this weekend, got the Jeep much more streetable, and did an oil change on the DD. Managed to take a nice gash out of my finger on some plastic while changing the oil. Who knew plastic could be so sharp?

Not looking forward to getting up at 3:30am to head to the airport...

I'm running them at 10psi on a 8" wide rim and they havent missed a beat. My KM2's side walls flexed a lot more, but these flex enough for them to send my rig everywhere i pointed it.

That's the set up someone suggested to me, and I've used it with good success. I have yet to lose bead at 10 psi. :viking:

I managed to go black in the last couple days..... gotta figure out how to pay up without a paypal account. Any guesses??

How do you tell when you expire?? I had that happen once, and was not pleased about it. I like to stay current. :viking:

Found my front driveshaft it FUBAR, and since it's FUBAR my front pinion bearing is FUBAR, so hopefully my gears aren't FUBAR, I sure hope I can get everything fixed for Kentucky

Preparing for my annual spring vacation day on Thursday. It is supposed to be 75 today and 68 on Friday but only 47 on Thursday, so that kind of sucks.

Anyway....

Think I'm going to start out for a little while at the auto auction off Dickerson Pike, then head to Hilltop Auto Salvage, then over to Music City Pick A Part, maybe a stop at Jeepies to pick up a light bar, lunch at Moes, then end at Pull A Part.

I think I'm going to look for someway to fab up a cowl fed air induction set up with the cylinder style Range/Land Rover air boxes. Kicking that idea around. I've read that cowl fed systems are pretty loud in the cab, but the cooling and air pull is considerably better. And of course - I'll just poke around and see what cool crap I can find...maybe another set or two of hood vents or skid plates.

Fingers are crossed that I find a Liberty Renegade rooftop light bar or a factory XJ rear tire carrier. (Yeah, right!!!)

I could use a set of hood vents and a factory tire carrier if you happen across extras :D :D

Duly noted. I'm keeping the first tire carrier I find. I have vents already, but always buy any I find because someone can surely use them.

I may be mistaken, but I think you might be able to pay via check. PM "membership" and see what he says...
