Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I had 2 sets on my very first cherokee.... Frequent rotations are key :D

They took me many places I shouldn't have been in this jeep.

They just look sexy on an XJ.

What should I hit at Golden mountain this weekend?

I believe the young gentleman I got mine from may not have been fastidious with the preventative stuff. But boy did the paint shine when I got it. And I think it took a couple months to get the extra ArmourAll off the plastic. :viking:

Is that the XJ you had at Tellico?

I bought a truck today! Still working on getting my garage (and that house thing too)

Those are great trucks. I had a '97 model. It had a little over 265,000 miles on it when I sold it, and it was still running great. Original engine as far as I know, trans was rebuilt at around 235,000 miles. I wish I'd have kept it!!

Keep the bands adjusted and the fluid flushed regularly... iirc they take atf+4 not dex/merc... my parents had the worst luck with those trannies.

If you work it hard don't slap it in park/neutral to cool down, iirc they don't pump fluid to some bearing surfaces or something when in those gears, so keep it in drive with your foot on the brake and let it cool a bit. Many shift kits include drilling a hole in the valve body that fixes the issue.

Went trail riding with some friends today in the NE Georgia mountains. We had a blast. On the agenda for tomorrow: pulling the transmission out of the red ZJ for a refresh. Should have it back in a couple of days and have it back on the road by next weekend!
