Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Met a guy last week who wanted me to do a little work on his 06 TJ. It drove horrible so I swapped out some the trac bar tie rod end and adjusted the castor a little bit.

I told the kid he needed more stuff fine tuned before it was really driveable... I was scared to drive it faster than 45mph in it's current condition.

He didn't listen.

Of course the first thing I did was make sure the tracbar was still intact and didn't cause the wreck. lol

He says he hit this laying in the road:

Then bounced off this truck:

Then cartwheeled across this field.

I'm sure that was a fun ride.

Yes, he survived. Good thing he was wearing a seat belt.

Holy cow! I'm glad the guy was ok! I hope this means that jeep is going to be trai only now? If I ever do something like that in mine, it'll be on it's way to buggyville...

Doubtful. The kid is 17 years old, a senior in highschool. I'm sure it'll just get totaled and find it's way to a scrap yard.

I txt him last night and asked if he had intentions of buying it back from the insurance company. He hasn't replied yet. I'd sure like to get my hands on it and part it out.

He paid me to replace the tie rod end on his track-bar. I'm fairly certain he has no clue how to start building a buggy. lol

Buy his tires! I love my claws.

I hope you take better care of yours than the owner did of these.

The kid bought this Jeep just like it sits so he has no clue what's done to it. Typical kid that just thought it looked cool.

The tires were terrible. I wouldn't put that set of tires on a trailer. They were cupped out, worn terribly, every other lug was about 1/4 inch shorter than the next one and they were hard as a rock.

Hopefully, yours age better than these did.

I got my XJ w/35" claws, and that describes one of the 4 I got pretty well. It was shot. First thing replaced... and they are Loud. :viking:

For some reason tires wear like that on solid axles even if all other components are in good condition. The more aggressive the tread, the more pronounced the wear and the more often you should rotate them. I see Jeeps all the time with cupped and severely feathered tread blocks on their mud tires. The owners seem oblivious to the fact that they need to keep them rotated on a regular basis or be remotely concerned with keeping an eye the steering components

I must say when I was in high school I didn't know too much about vehicles, just enough to get myself in trouble. If I had been in a Jeep back then, I probably would've gotten myself hurt with the way I drove, I'll admit I still drive kinda fast sometimes, but I've wised up a LOT. Glad he's alright

At least he took one of the god awful wheels on that blue pickup with him. And didn't die. Maybe he'll learn from his mistake?
