Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I've used them on a few different applications and used (and re-used) other varieties of grade "who-the-heck-knows-what" bolts and not had any problems. I'd be much more concerned with the U-bolts not keeping the axle attached and allowing it to shift fore and aft causing the centering bolts to shear.

Just use the largest bolt you can fit through the leafs, and grind down the head to fit in the perch.

NAPA carries them so does ADvanced but you have to ask for them. They usually have them in the boxes of bolts in the back.

No!

Family dinner and diagnosing step sisters car Friday night. Brakes all around on mom's Jeep, recharging my AC, and a tractor pull on Saturday. Moving all day from one apartment to another today. Managed to get all the furniture and hard stuff done between 7am and 10am before it got ungodly hot. The rest of the day was spent running back and forth taking misc. stuff. Get to do it all over again in a month!

Oh, and got a phone call Saturday night that Joshooha broke his Jeep and needed a truck and trailer....quickest I could come up with something was lunch time today but fortunately he was able to fix it. I'll let him tell the story.

well thanks to Joshooha i now have all the parts for my lift! well minus centering bolts for my leaf packs, cant fined the sobs anywhere!
ha, i have a set in my glovebox that i won't be using anytime soon. i got them at O'Reilly auto parts for like a dollar apiece. go check there. they were in a box behind the counter. you need 5/16th's for xj leaves. the true leafspring centering pins are something like grade 10 steel. black, and threaded pretty much the whole way down.:gee:

Still working on the damn yota:doh: The front is done, I started on the rear today and hit problem after problem.

I hope to finish tomorrow and I never want to see another toyota in my garage again:mad:

Well over 130 man hours at this point.

It looks great but dang this is a lot of work for 3.5" lift. Here is a crappy cell phone pic of the front done. Its riding a little low in the rear LOL!

SuperDave does it again .. not telling me the rear brakes are missing parts...
mrs crawler, leaking rear axle seal, ate up the rear pads.. so Adam helped me remove the axle seal and replace the brakes and all.. So next weekend im going to have to run to the JY and pick up some brake parts..
The battery died as well.. I replaced it with one i bought from LS2 XJ.
Lucky buy the weeks before.
We need shocks, SYE, disco's and gear swap to get it trail ready..

Just got back from Myrtle Beach... Too many tourists and WAY too hot. I drove up to Kure, NC this past monday to drive out on the beach. I saw a couple nice XJs up there. I wonder who they were... I was in the Liberty so I didn't stop, lol.
Bumper sticker: "if it's called tourist season, why can't we shoot them?" (fairly common in Maine)

Did you go out on Kure Beach or did you go a little bit further north into Carolina Beach? If you went to Carolina Beach (cost $20 to get on the beach for the day), that's where Nick and I were last weekend.

We saw a bunch of XJ's...several bone stock, several slightly modified, and a few heavily modified.

Actually, you're right. It was Carolina Beach. We took the South Port Ferry across and went all the way up. I've been out on both beaches...

We were there on Monday so we may have missed you. I was in a 2002 Liberty Renegade. I saw one heavily built XJ and the rest were stock.

Andy, how far are you from Ridge Spring or Monetta?

Drove to Chattanooga Freiday night and spent the night at the Chattanoogan Hotel. Nice place. Took Olivia swimming for 1.5 hours. We were like prunes when the pool closed.

Saturday we went Cracker Barrel for breakfast and on to the Aquarium. Spent a few hours there and then headed home. Took a nap and then went to visit one of my wifes Aunts that has cancer. Spent some time with her and the family.

Sunday was Church and then on to JCP. Got ready to checkout and found that the 30% off coupon didn't start until 3pm. Found a way to waste an hour to save some money and then went home.

I'm about an hour and 15 minutes from Monetta. We used to play those guys Baseball team in High School.

I thought you were close was not sure. Ever been to the Big MO? One weekend when I'm over there I'm going to go to Gulches on SAturday. It has yet to happen though. :rattle:

Never heard of Big MO. I'll have to look into it.

You STILL haven't been to Gulches!? lol Slacker.

I haven't been in almost a year. The poor Jeep has been under a tree in the back yard for almost that long. I finally got all my tools lined up and I'm going home to work on the front gear install as soon as I get off... I hope to be at Gulches somewhere near the 3rd week in Aug. I hope it's cooled off a lil by then...

and I'm about 20 minutes from Gulches.

Big Mo is a drive in Theatre in Monetta. A lot fo people from Columbia/Lexigton and Aiken go there on Friday and SAturday nights. Post up when you go to Gulches. I hear its a buggy park now. Expect body damage and not a lot for smaller rigs.

Eh, like I said, I haven't been there in almost a year but last time I heard there was plenty for smaller rigs. I'd say about 60% of the trails you can expect some body damage, depends on how careful you are. Now, I have seen them start to build MORE advanced trails and I can see where the mild trails would have slowly eroded into more difficult trails. But Skip is usually pretty good about keeping them well maintained. I'll take lots of pics and let ya know before I go in case you can make it out.

Nick and I were there the weekend of the 17th...so not this past weekend but the previous weekend. Left on Sunday at that. I did see several KJ's on the beach. A lot of people don't give them credit for what they can actually do. That being said, i'll still take my XJ over a KJ any day.

Thats why I have one of both. lol It's actually a pretty fun little vehicle. My better half is usually the one driving it tho. The first time it's wrecked it's getting a 44 up front and 9inch in the back, long arms and coil overs. :D

ALSO, What the hell is up with Mustang week at the beach... I probably saw 3,000 Mustangs. I saw some nice ones and crappy ones. When are we starting Jeep week?!
