Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Here it is...

Redkneck! :scared: :worship:

lol

Yeah, well... I'd rather sit it on the ground than have it fall on one of the kids.

and it would fall. The ground is so dang soft back there.

I got a quote yesterday on a 30x30 cement pad with a stick built garage (Metal siding), 2 garage doors, 2 windows and a regular door. $12 per square foot.

I'm building a shop! ...and it WILL have a lift.

well aussie locker wont warranty her locker for....get this....INSTALLATION RELATED ISSUES?!

i installed it per their intstructions and it wore past the heat treating in the cam gears! how could it be installation related if we ran it for almost 2 years???

talk about a company I WILL NOT be doing business with again....

btw if wants a d30 aussie they offered to let me buy one for 150+20 to ship....im not going to run one again but i might be able to help out

That's disappointing. You are the first person that I personally know that's had to try and warranty an Aussie. I was hoping the result would be better than that. Hopefully mine doesn't give me any trouble.....

Hmm, I was contemplating ordering an Aussie.....uh oh...

They aren't terrible lockers.... But you get what you pay for in support, I'm going to replace it with a Yukon grizzly and they have a collateral damage warranty, if the locker explodes and destroys gears they cover that as well. Worth almost 2 extra bills in my book.

Aussie is sending it to an independent evaluator so well see if they come through

Won't be long now! Ironing out property line details...

I have owned 4 Aussie lockers(2 D-30 and 2 8.25) I have never had an issue with reliability or durability. On my first 8.25 locker I had some "air gap" measurements that were not correct(this was a early run of the 8.25 Aussie) and the locker was intermittent.

I called the customer support number on Aussie's website and got a direct line to the inventor/chief engineer for Aussie, he also invented another LB locker, Lock Rite maybe? Anyway he worked with me on the air gap issues, sent me some shims and we got it correct and that locker is still going today with no issues. I would guess that my oldest Aussie has 50k on it and still looks new at the cogs.

Sounds like to me that like most manufactured items, someone got a bad one while many others got good ones.

I would buy another Aussie without hesitation but I prefer the full case Detroit's for the strength of the carrier. Throwing a LBL into a D-30 carrier is asking for trouble on 33's/35's with RCV's and cryoed gears. For that reason alone I'm running a full case Detroit in the front and a Aussie in the rear of my trail rig.

I have an aussie in my 30, but it's a 3.55 30... cheaper than dirt. If it blows up, I get another.

well, i attempted to install the lift shackles on my rusty new england xj, and managed to break the bolt on the body side of the passenger shackle. since i don't feel like cutting a hole to get to the captured nut to cut it out and replace the whole shebang right now, i just tack welded the head of the bolt to the shackle mount for now. i know that's really lame, but fixing it right is a project i don't want to tackle tonight, when i gotta work early in the morning.

maybe that'll be a good project for tomoro night....
here's where getting jeeps for the cheap can come back and bite you on the hiney. oh well, it'll help me appreciate my jeep further down the road when it's not a pile of monkey crap anymore.

Put a new/used muffler on the trail junk today. It's SO MUCH nicer now that it's quieter. It doesn't sound like a tank anymore.

I might be able to hear myself think on the trail now.

Put an offer on a house today I've had my eye on for a couple of weeks. Got a call back about4 hours later that the offer was accepted!

Now time to pack. This should get me in early enough to recoup some funds to make it to the crawl comfortably.

Part of me thought that. But the seller is picking up most of the closing costs with my lender.picking up the rest. I'm putting 3.5% down and financing $10,000 less than what the asking price was. I think I did pretty good in the end...

Welp got some new 32s for the jeep today and am tackling the newly formed parasitic draw on my jeep. Anyone have experience with a parasitic draw occurring and how to find out the issue? I tested several connections and seems that one of the wires from my power distribution block is drawing poswer with the key in the off position.

Yeah you did pretty well, they must have been ready to scoot

When's the move in?

Aiming for a mid-April closing date. Would like to be in by mid May...late May at the latest.

Doesn't need much of anything before I move in. Touch of paint here and there and a good cleaning...

Radiator side tank started leaking today. Flushing it probably loosened it up. Ordered an aluminum 2 row from ebay.

Got the new cps in. She purrs at idle now. Put a wrench on my mainfold bolts and all of them were loose. Now that they're tight, the valve noise is much quieter. It almost sounds like a new jeep.

Swapped in a WJ steering pump and a new pressure hose. I think my durango box still needs the spacers taken out, but the effort is a lot nicer on the 35's. Most of the air is out, but I'll have to let it sit a couple of days and work it out. Power steering cooler is on the way from amazon, so I'll put the tranny cooler and the ps cooler in when I change the radiator. I'm considering a longer pitman arm to get the wheels to turn more. I'm nowhere near the steering stops.

On a 96+ the WJ pump is straight bolt in. I was impressed.

The lender and the construction company paid for all my closing costs.

The lawyer said she never saw anyone get their deposit check back at the closing before.
