8.1 FTW! Guy I know has an 8.1 avalanche. Nice score Doug!

You had the 5.3 in that other truck? It had the same transmission that's in the truck I just got?

What issues were you having with it? Is it a common problem with these trucks? Mine seems to be doing good at the moment. *fingers crossed*

The sun cages are known to be weak.... Other than that they're good. Find a guy you trust to rebuild it....I think my problems came from bad techs rebuilding it.

Put a good temp gauge in it and a good cooler on it.... And find a guy you trust to build it when it goes

Cool. Fairly straight forward with the cooler install like any other? I know very little about these things so far. Thanks.

Yes it might have one. But a nice big one cant hurt. The sun cage replace can be done by a good tech in under 7hrs....the replacement is cqlled the beast, its an upgraded piece and most rebuilders use it....

Only thing I missed about towing with a burban is not having to take a tent when camping. As well as everything you put in them stay dry.

I treated our old one like a truck. Put axles, motors, trannys etc. In them.

Great tow rigs!

Spent the weekend as an Alumni Mentor with a group I was involved in during my time at UNC Charlotte. It was a great opportunity to give back to a group that gave me a lot and changed how I look at every day life. Hopefully I was able to make a difference for somebody else this weekend.

Not a shabby view for the weekend either:

Absolutely beautiful weather as well. If only they had a boat up there for us to use....

Nice! What lake is that?

I love or private camping spot on Jocassee. It's not far from you guys and offers a whole day of dirt road exploring with waterfalls and such.

I hate that this picture always comes out so small.

drove my xj up to indiana, and rode my bike 30 miles in the "Hope Ride". poor old xj has some serious vibage on the interstate. didn't have these vibes till i put the locker in the front axle, so i guess that means something's worn out in my front shaft... it's not too bad as long as i stay under 70, but it gets better gas mileage around 75, so it's a trade-off...
