Weekend is over...what did you get done?

drove my xj up to indiana, and rode my bike 30 miles in the "Hope Ride". poor old xj has some serious vibage on the interstate. didn't have these vibes till i put the locker in the front axle, so i guess that means something's worn out in my front shaft... it's not too bad as long as i stay under 70, but it gets better gas mileage around 75, so it's a trade-off...

Ha, nobody else in TN knows where Hope is. Should have let me know you were rolling through. Did you see NAXJA member Big Hank there in the chili pepper red XJ with bumpers and roof rails?

Fixed the fuel line with 2€ worth of new fuel line. Bought some 3.5" RE springs to level out the XJ. Once the springs are here, I'm looking to put on some new shocks.

Messed with photoshop:

ha, yeah man, I should have, really! I always forget how close columbus is to hope... I didn't really see any other lifted xj's other than one that never moves at a house thats either on 31 or 46, can't remember.... i did see a bunch of spandex yuppies driving subarus though, lol.
who the hell decided that it's ok to wear spandex, no matter what you look like in it, just because you're riding a bike? or maybe even told somebody it was required?
I was on my vintage free spirit 10 speed, and actually got comments on it like it was something special, lol. This annoyed my wife's stepmother, who just spent a couple grand on her shiny new trek. mine is a yard sale special with a nice seat thrown on it so my arse won't hurt, lol.

Hey, I know where Hope is!

I can't believe anyone outside of a 20 mile radius had any idea what the Hope Ride was.

Spent the weekend with my Dad in the Aiken house. Did some work with him around there.... had no internet so we sat around all day waiting on the repair guy that never came.... I did go fishing for a little while. Cought a Bass that broke my rod. I put him on a stringer to go get a bucket and a scale... came back and he had ripped open the metal mouth piece that I had him hooked on.... FML! Glad I layed him on the tailgate and shot a picter of him.... abnout 18" long. Was a nice bass. That pond has all kinds of trees on teh damn and no way to bank fish it. I will be going back and clearing the trees. Basically its full of logs and stumps and no one fishes it. My new favortie places to fish. Came home on Sunday, spent some time with Spanky talking every thing from computers to TJ's to XJ's. All in all a good weekend.

Says the only Hope Native on NAXJA! :D

Rafted the Upper and Lower Gauley River this weekend, IT WAS A BLAST. Great Friends, Good Food, and lots of whitewater. I didnt get tossed but several in my boat did.
I've got 2 GO-pro videos from the trip and tons of pictures if anyones interested

Hartsville, IN :) Population: 367

It's a hop, skip and a jump from my hometown. Which has a population of about 2,100.

blink and you miss it!

No one has ever heard of my hometown either. But the remember the video/pictures of the shrimp boats in the streets after Hurricane Hugo (as long as you were born - GAH I'm getting old)....

Broke my accelerator cable this morning. Didn't have the right one available so I took the cable off my Ford Ranger and with minimal fabrication it works pretty darn good for the time being.

Replaced an axle shaft and the self adjusters in my drums today. Man, she stops much better but I went through those shoes in 18 months. That seems a little too quick for me.
