Weekend is over...what did you get done?

I had the same thing happen with the rear driveshaft and o2 sensor wiring.

FYI, if your manifold can melt your wiring, you probably have it routed wrong. It's supposed to go around the left side of the intake manifold behind the power steering pump and under the fuel supply/return lines, not between the manifold and the serp belt path on the front. There's a clamp down near the oil pan level that keeps the excess cable from flapping around, too, that one's rather important.

The wrong way you mentioned is exactly how it is. One of those little things that slipped through during the motor swap and then never was taken care of.

Live and learn.

Stump, one of these days i'm driving down so you can fab something on my XJ, I just don't know what yet....

Just got finished cutting out, tacking and welding a cradle/mounting plate for a Warn 8274 Winch. Now I just gotta build a bumper around it. Stay tuned. :D

If you ever find yourself building a front bumper from scratch, do yourself a favor and get these pre-cut bumper brackets from Tyler at Rock Solid Offroad. They are awesome, and make life a LOT easier.

Stump, you need to start a build thread on Latney's XJ. Everyone will want to watch the build, especially me.

The biggest reason I would consider a .300 blackout is the subsonic qualities. I have seen some at the range with a can that are too quiet to register on a shot timer. For a comparison, a stapler gets picked up on the shot timer. It's Hollywood quiet.

Good point. The 125g is not subsonic with a MV of 2375f/s. The 220g is subsonic with a velocity of 1015f/s. But the ballistics is terrible over 50yards.

This is bullet drop for the 125g projectile. The 200g SS flat falls out of the sky after 50 yards.

IMO, A .22LR with can and standard 1050 f/s out of a 16" barrel would be a better setup for that quite but accurate 100 yard shot.........

If you are talking about the .300BLK subsonic rounds dropping out of the sky at 50 yards, that's the point of the subsonic round in the .300BLK caliber. Making it an ideal caliber for close quarters as well as running a non-SS load for longer range where it doesn't need to be quiet to get the job done.

Well I decided I'm going to run 5.86 gears in the rear 70 and the front 76
I wish they would hurry up with the spools everyone is sold out
o well I'm making a cage around my gas tank now then got to fix one rust hole and spray the bed liner in finally

Exactly it really isn't the magical round everyone claims. It shines as a CQB caliber. A 10.5" barrel/canned 300 blk makes one heck of a room/building/house clearing tool. They wouldn't even hear you in the adjacent room. Now you can look back to my previous post about tax stamp crazy plans... and you know what I am aiming to build eventually.

Now it does have some hunting qualities for us on the east coast, due to our relatively close shots, especially staying in supersonic loads. You get the .30 caliber thump out of an AR platform with a simple barrel change. Then again, it's more about shot placement in the end.

but the 300 blk uppers still arent cheap.....noveske claims to have 6k in that rifle, and if your not interested in the subsonic loads for hunting, the .308 platform if a clear winner on caliber availability
