Vote Libertarian

correct.

you see, I treat this thread as my own property.
I can always ask someone to leave.

besides, no one ever said I follow the party line exclusively. I am actually an asshole.

I would like this thread to be informative about the 3rd largest political party in the US that no one has heard of.
It seems that no one is happy with the options they have to vote for, at least none of the people I talk to, so I'm here to present a third option.

Again, none of the wasted vote speech. If you're too chicken to vote with your conscience and your heart then go ahead and compromise. I'm tired of compromising my principals so I can get a "win". In the end, I still lose. So I might as well vote what makes me happy, and just maybe we get enough to do something.

as to the whole "get traction in your local government"
http://www.lp.org/states/Ohio

we're trying. It's hard to compete with corporate fund raising.

and there's a number of campus organizations too, there's one about a mile from my house.

WOW That's like putting half of what you got left in your pocket on the lotto but asking the clerk to wait till they announce the numbers and then place your bet on the numbers that were not pulled. WOW

Libertarians could be much higher than 15 to 25%.

i'm talking about what you said here....regardless if it was a reply to another post, you said it, and the statement is lunacy.

the libertarian party has never captured higher than 2% of the vote since it was founded....that goes for house and senate elections...in fact, only Clark/Koch got the highest percentage of votes of any other libertarian presidential candidate at a whopping 1%.

My own political philosophy is very much libertarian....

but that doesn't mean I'm going to blindly cast votes for a loser party, when the deeper issue is unseating a socialist. I'm going with the guy who has the best chance of doing that.

casting a vote for a candiate that doesn't have a chance of getting more than .5% is not logical, and without value.

so debt is responsible for the erosion of my civil liberties? The TSA, DHS, NDAA, BATFE, DEA and every other acronym that seeks to make us all criminals to be controlled?

come back when you have a grasp of the whole picture, not just the one the advertisements are telling you about.

What are you madd about? Your ignorance? Tell me to grasp of the whole picture when Obama leads us to a socialist government and society. Tell me to get a grasp when the house you are suppose to be born in, built by your grandfather, for your dads wedding present is taken by a communist government and given to a communist supporter. Tell me get a grasp when the job your dad had with a world wide stock market exchanged petroleum based company is taken away. Tell me to get a grasp when as a family you have to leave the country your parents loved and were born in to save their lives. Yes I am a 1st generation Cuban born in the NYC in 1961. I am grateful to the USA for the open arms my parents were given and will fight to the death for that freedom that was ripped from them. So ask me to get a grasp, I say to you WAKE up and YOU get a grasp! I've heard of immigrants criticizing United States born citizens like myself of not appreciating the freedoms that we have and I am reminded of this every time I hear the ignorance spewed out of some of the people that the constitution stands for and say, WOW, please GOD send them to Cuba for experience! That's where OBAMA is taking us. You didn't build that you had help, tell him to tell me that when I was building my house and hanging my doors and windows till the next morning, after work, that I didn't build that.

GOD BLESS INTELLIGENCE! BECAUSE THE DEVIL ALLREADY OWNS IGNORANCE!! I'M DONE HERE . There is nothing left of this post that could possibly benefit any common sense based American, God Bless us and be with us! Yes I'm passionate about what was given to me and grateful for what others do not know is something worth fighting for!

This is why I am usually not interested in getting involved with political discussion. Keep visiting the thread though. I have found with rare exception, there is a portion of someone's argument that I can agree with. Threads give the advantage of being able to step back, curse a bit, mix another beverage, and digest what has been posted. Perhaps this internet posting thing is how we can take our country back. Being spoon fed by the media sure isn't getting it. I think many people are bat $hit crazy, but that can lead to thinking in a new direction.

I forgot to unsubscribe but well said. You seam to have a level head on your shoulders, which is all I'm trying to say. i speak from experience having 50 years from birth seeing how socialism devours the spirit of humanity to have a chance to make a better life.
On another subject I have a son near you in training (school). He is serving in the Coast Guard. Protecting our last lines of defense, our shores! I'm glad to see he's near some level heads.

I have been hoping my last boy (17) considers the Coast Guard. Excellent career with the added benefit of not getting shipped off to some war zone. Boarding ships is plenty risky, but usually close to home. Where is yours stationed? I know they have reserves in Charleston.

I am voting what I believe will fix the debt crisis. That's a business man with proven track. Just like Henry Ford he did not sell cars on credit till ten years after Chevrolet did. He thought credit would ruin America. That's why Ford didn't and wouldn't take the bail out, they didn't need it. That's good business management like Romney. This is a business world that needs business sense with a level of compasion.
No, Ford didn't take the bailout because they fell apart before the others. They had to sell off most if not all of their extra brands (Jaguar, Aston, Volvo) and kill Mercury. They were sustained through the crash that got the others because they had already been forced to sell everything off before the bailouts came along.

So geez Darky what does that mean? They didn't take care of their house. They didn't invest in other companies by buying them only to be able to sell them in a pinch???? I'm sorry but that is not very smart on your part to state what you have because I myself have sold my sandrail, a F350 truck that I was going to grab the axles out of & a few other items that I had like paddle tires, a quad Dana 44 ect... Granted I did not use them but I guess that makes me stupid like Ford for not having equity in items to sustain my existence. Or is Chevy and Chrysler the stupid ones for blowing their money and not looking down the road for investments that can be liquidated for survival. Geez I think that is business 101 in school. I don't mean that personally Darky I know your a good guy but come on, I think it says something to survive what 2 other major car manufacturers couldn't, yes- no!!!!

He was in Puerto Rico surfing and spear fishing on his days off. Then Tampa for ship repairs while spring baseball training was on, then Key West for 6 months. This kid steps in crap and comes out smelling like roses. God Has really blessed him. When he's done in school, he got lucky and some guys dropped and he got Staten Island. He was so excited because I was born in Manhattan and he really wants to see all the NYC. Where I was born and where we lived in Broklyn till my parents moved me to Calif.

There is hope out there Spoken with true logical analysis! God Bless you for using your wits and common sense, I'm with you!

ummhhh, hate to burst your bubble but there are U.S. Coast Guard cutters in the Persian Gulf.

I am aware of that, but their job isn't combat. I don't mean that their job isn't dangerous or doesn't take them all over the world, but that they don't normally have combat roles.
The other armed forces including the National Guard are made for shooting and being shot at. The Coast Guard has more of a police and rescue role.

Yeah very true they are mainly policing, that is what they specialize. You know that they provide escort in the straits above Somalia and cover for Navy also. The other thing is like our locals DEA FBI ect.. they never know when they'll be under fire or in risk of life boarding ships.

What my point was is that it wasn't Ford being better off, it was just Ford falling apart sooner. Had they lasted longer, they would've been in a boat similar to GM. Chrysler had nothing to sell off...Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep. GM sold/killed numerous brands as part of their restructuring. If Ford had waited longer to fall apart, they wouldn't have been able to sell anything. There was no market available once it fell apart.

This election is for a Socialism or Capitalism, the two cannot co-exist, so pick one.

The Presidential race is a dead tie, at 42% Obama / 42% Romney, 15% undecided/other party voting. Time to rethink the value of your vote.

My vote? My vote's worthless. This, like all modern elections, will be decided by the "undecided" (uninformed) 15% in the middle, who vote for the guy they'd rather have a beer with.

And Obama's gonna win it in a walk.
