trail report!: old stage

well i just got home....what a crazy day....
we had a good group of jeeps...
saran wrap went well with a lot fo fun...
but eagle rock and its ice gave us(excluding led and yella) a quick kick in the junk....
we ended up turnin around and playin on some other trails after a good amount of winching and throtle...i dont have any pics yet but will post as son as i can


also..good meeting everyone...
thanks to led and yella for the insight...not pickin on me too badly...and a good show...

Broke back window by backing into a tree.. super pissed but good times. I jus rigged it with a plastic bag and some duct tape.

I just posted this in the original thread, so ill post it agian here now that i see you all made a thread for the trail report.................. where the hell were you guys? i drove up that long ass washboard road (old stage) and took a right across where the creek/pond was dried up, and drove up to the clearing to the entrance to eagle rock trail and saw no one. got on my CB on channel 14 and called out for the group and no one answered. saw my boy with the white toyota 4 runner leaving later on and he said he was in front of yella and he was the last person on the trail... no bbq? the girl and I came up to hang and check out the madness but no one was to be found. just saw a yellow XJ on the way back down the mtn.



Now i see the yellow jeep i was behind on the way down. sorry the girl and i missed you guys. we were looking for you guys for a good 3 hours with no success. maybe next time.

Depends on when you actually came up. We went up Saran Wrap first. Went quite a ways in and then stopped for lunch right at about 12:30. A couple of us went farther up until the snow covered the trail and we all turned back as a group sometime around 2pm. Then the group headed up Eagle Rock and got the group up the steep hill between 3:30 and 4pm and after trying to get all the open/open group up beyond the hill, it became pretty tedious having to keep one winch rig ahead of the group to constantly winch up past the ice in the road ruts. We made the "mature" decision to turn around and head back down. I think we all gathered in the big clearing at the base of both trails around 4:30/5pm or so. After that, Mike took the remaining smaller group up to Baldy and some other trail spurs and we all left the mountain around 5:30/6pm.


Personally, I call B.S. that you actually came up..........

Dood........ that pic doesn't EVEN tell the story there! That hill was so steep at that point and having my rear tire on that rock was the only thing keeping it from rolling over! Funny how looking up and taking that shot makes it look almost flat! I just couldn't muster up the ballz to turn the tires down hill there. I just backed way up and took a different line.... that almost wasn't much better..... Can't wait to see those pics!

Had some fun today!! Finally got to meet some of yall in person!! My Heep worked great as usual.... It was goin on three when I headed out..... long day for me without sleep and havin to go right back into work tonight:spin1: I snapped a few pics, nothing really cool but I will try and get them up soon. ....pics of the decent/inclines or obstacles never look the way they do in real life & at the moment in time.

A little of both.......... Fawker.

I had a momentary lapse in sanity and ran without the doors..... It was really nice when we met, but it got friggin' cold and windy up on the trail. Yeah I shoulda known better...... but I did wear layers for that reason - and I wore every one of 'em.

LOL! Sorta.

Led bagged on me for "pulling a marktard" when I was propping my left foot up against the exo behind the fender........ but that was simply to keep me from getting road splatter from the sloppy road up. I wasn't hanging it out there like a dead appendage like 'Tard does......

ill be gettin my boss' camera sometime this week. i took about a hundred pics, ill sort out the good and bad and post em up as soon as they are on the computer. some of the pics i took show very well the crazy angle and rocks yella was on...let me say i was nothing less than impressed....
glad everyone had fun. i know i wasnt the only one snappin pics..where are the rest?!
