THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

...or encourage hacking of said fastener. :D

I'm still pleased with the parking boot key/unlock tool that I made. That one was good for a case of beer almost every weekend at school...
I have one of those in my back yard. It's out of oxygen and acetylene though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I probably did that.

All I know is I bashed whatever socket I had that fit on.

I refuse to buy a socket set for those two completely homosexual bolts.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

A small drift punch sometimes works to break off the security pin in the middle of the screwhead.

Microsized needle nose pliers can sometimes operate a spanner head screw.

I've never done either of these things with less than honorable intentions.

:)
I would if it didn't have to go back together again. :)

Hmm, thats not bad but it doesn't seem to have EVERYTHING.
I want every single darn stupid micro security safety driver thingy-ma-bob drive there is, this is the last time I run into something that I can't take apart.
This one has a bit more, but still not everything:

I put those two completely homosexual bolts back on my jeep even though I replaced both the engine and the transmission because I didn't have any 3/8-16 hex heads handy, and already bought the sockets. I might be gayer than carmelo.

EDIT: Bill, it has everything I've ever needed, and will probably cover everything you need too, unless you are trying to disassemble happy meal toys.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Bash a 6pt socket on.
If this works then I'll definitely do so. I THINK I know where my set is but I just want to be prepared.

Scott, I have a full set of inverse torx. I'm like 2 hours from you though. The set is ~$40 at Sears...

Yeah, a 2 hour drive is a bit much seeing as I could buy that $40 set for the same amount of $$ as I'd spend on gas :laugh3: Thanks though. Hopefully I know where mine are and it's a moot point.

That works, but mine was a piece of 1.5" hex stock, 6" long, with a particular hole arrangement machined into one end of it.

Generally if a person in need of such a device gave me a case of beer, I'd conveniently misplace said device until it miraculously showed back up in my mailbox a short while later.

I think it's funny how they designed all these safety/security fasteners then just sell another kit so you can take it apart.

The one thing I've seen that I don't know how I would open is the penta nub on the brass things that thread into the sidewalk. I guess you could bash a socket on or spin it with a chisel punch, but I've never even seen a 5 point socket in a store.

That's what I always used to think...until those homosexual bolts started stripping, and things got really gay.

Colin, take notes. This is a pun.

= a fire hydrant?

You need a hydrant wrench.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I reinstalled those bolts the last time I had the trans out for the same reason's Ken mentioned... and now I'm regretting it because 5 years later I forget where I put the sockets since I haven't needed them since

I'd get the amazon set, but mostly because I have amazon prime and would get free 2 day shipping on it. Amazon prime kicks ass.

Haha no no... let me see if I can find a picture. I know fire hydrants use the same fittings, but they're not recessed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wonder how much trouble it would cause if you cut the tip of a fire hydrant off with an oxy ace torch...

edit:
And I know exactly what you're talking about Anthony. The covers for the standpipe leading from the buffalo box covering a water main shutoff to the road surface.
See, I'm not nuts.

I wonder how much shit you'd have to deal with if someone did this down in your neck of the woods and sent this post of yours in to the cops as an anonymous lead.

Probably a fair amount. I'm not gonna do it, but I'd watch the video on youtube.

This isn't the first good idea for a malicious prank that I've ever had... But I've never done any of them because I'd be pissed if it happened to me.

But I do have well water, so it wouldn't really bother me THAT much (unless someone also lit my house on fire with the torch they used to chop the hydrant)
