THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wait.

So you had to tell someone a few levels up the chain, 3 times, that all they're doing is paying you to sit on your ass? And then they're going to continue to do that for another week before someone does something about it?

And that's a remarkable display of GSD where you work?

Shit, you must be surrounded by a bunch of mouthbreathers. If I went to my boss and told him I didn't have anything to do, I guarantee within the next 5 minutes I'd have a mountain of stuff on my desk.

And that's why I *don't* tell him that. :helpme:
You remember where I work. Nothing gets done quickly or painlessly here. People either fight it and go mad or drink the kool-aid. I used to fight it, when I was involved with real projects that actually mattered.

It's been a hell of a lot longer than a week.

The way this place does business is so effed and over the past few months I realized my department is the worst. But hey, the job security is damn good and I do want to work.

Cliff notes?

What makes it nsfw? (nudity, language, etc) There are some gray areas I'll venture to but others I won't.

there is a cartoon dick chasing after cartoon vaginas

then they have cartoon sex

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And I bet all 3 of the people who bought those vises are going to do more than just take pictures of them... .!.:D.!.

They just bought the kit...

You need to calm down with all this making fun of people. You're becoming good at it.

You can sit around all day moping about not having a tool or piece of equipment, and not get anything done...or you can improvise with what you have and GSD, bitch. :D

i tried doing that....

hacked up my steering linkage, over-reamed a pitman arm, fully welded my trackbar mount in the wrong place...

oops.

Some people just can't GSD.

Sounds like where I work.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone know the technical/proper name for this screw head? I need to get a full set of drivers for whatever it is.
Sorry for the blurry picture.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

A small drift punch sometimes works to break off the security pin in the middle of the screwhead.

Microsized needle nose pliers can sometimes operate a spanner head screw.

I've never done either of these things with less than honorable intentions.

:)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not sure that my V8 ZJ tie rod would have lasted on 35s.

I bent/tweaked my 1.5" tie rod in multiple areas after a year.
I have no idea how I didn't bend the shit out of mine, I literally drove like it was unbreakable. Didn't bend anything important at KOTU either, just (finally) managed to fold up the lower end of a stock LCA, probably at the same time as I tore the bar pin bushing sleeve on one of my shocks in half. I'm pretty sure what happened is my front end went airborne, tore the shock bushing sleeve in half, then the shock mount hit the top of the LCA at high speed and folded it in.

Stock suspension junk will survive a lot more abuse than most people give it credit for, I'm honestly surprised. I've trashed two UCAs (old jeep), one LCA (that I've been driving on since then, and even wheeled FC on), and some shocks... never broke my stock steering.

vw forums are retarded. like really retarded.
hey man, my jeep is overheating, any idea why? Can I run 35s on a dana 35? I need 8" of lift to run 35s on an XJ right?

I'm still amused by the fact that he actually had 3 vises to sell...
and people give me shit for doing this. :eyes:

Spanner head.
This. Sears' Craftsman screwdriver with tamperproof bit set has every spanner up to about 1/4" across. $20 and even has tamperproof torx, security hex/allen, tri-wing, 4-wing, etc as well.

Tamperproof screwdriver bits are like gun control, all they do is make only the hackers have them :)

is what I have. I haven't broken it so far.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

speaking of torx I have to find my inverse torx set so I can drop the trans this weekend if my buddy is available to lend a hand.

If I can't find the inverse torx set I bought does anyone semi-local have the correct socket for removing the top two trans bolts that I could borrow?

...or encourage hacking of said fastener. :D

I'm still pleased with the parking boot key/unlock tool that I made. That one was good for a case of beer almost every weekend at school...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You aren't wheeling hard enough.
I guess I'll have to change that.

Scott, I have a full set of inverse torx. I'm like 2 hours from you though. The set is ~$40 at Sears...
