What was the reasoning on the gear choice?
What top speeds did you see on the lakebed?
Seems like you'd benefit from even lower gearing (like the Jeep Speed guys) and it would give you better acceleration out of the hole.
I can't image you'd be able to use the 105+mph (mathematical and hypothetical) top speed that 4.88's and 35's would give you in high range.
Not trying to be critical at all just trying to understand your setup.
