Jon, for future, and good maintenance. Amsoil sells what they call "Performance Improver" It's a fuel additive, and supposed to help mileage and emissions. Something to think about.
I've run one bottle through my tank and it's seems to smooth things out.

ya I run the bgk44 stuff through once a year, and a full large bottle of lucas twice a year and randomly put injector cleaner through it, and i use the mopar CCC spray 1-2 times a year.

I typically use the Berryman B12,about once a month in my tank or MMO.
The Amsoil stuff is better than BG44

Heat treated custom cut cam. Head work. 12 weight crank. Lots of valve work. Intake work. 4.6 liter. Lots of goodies. Everything will be balanced.
It's months out but it is happening 100% I'm sending a down payment in soon. Russ kicks ass. Go with him for your strokers .

Honestly I was just looking for motors for my pops 4runner and then I called Russ randomly to see what a XJ stroker would cost me and the pricing was way better than I thought. he also has 5-6 motors ahead of me so it could be months or more so it will actually buy me some time to scrape together all the extra cash for the motor build, plus he requires only a down payment first then final payment before he sends out the motor so I can spread out the payments slightly. I believe the range we discussed for my build is between 2500$-3500$ but that doesn't include tax or shipping or extras so what we worked out with a focus on staying closer to 2500$ without skimping too much.

Cams can make or break opening these motors up for full potential. Gotta do a cam to complimemt the build specs.

also gotta pass smog. I haven't researched it to death yet but I'm not really looking for "full potential" since my suspension can't make any use of all that speed anyway. maybe I'd benefit more from a good rebuild

If you are going to spend money, might as well do it right. Not all strokers are crated equal. Russ can build you whatever you want. As long as you don't go crazy with the cam, you will still be able to pass smog, probably even better than from the factory.
