Socal - People in charge and what they do

Oh I agre that involved is better. I'm just saying if we can't get them involved we can at least take their money.

The so cal chapter is pretty big. There are many groups of different friends here. While most know who each other are it is easy to lose track of who is who. Especially long term members like yourself mike. When I first signed on I thought you were part of the bod or a mod. And It has just been recently that alot of talk about bod has come about. Maybe it because there are some problems or just because members are starting to get more curious about the club. Honestly I became a member because of the forum. I have recieved tons of info and help from members here. Becoming a member was my way of giving back and helping support the club. I just found out about the AAT program and bod. When I heard "club" I thought facebook for jeep guys. I had no idea there was a chain of command and a whole organization. It's easy for newbs to pass right by it. And alot of us who don't know have the problem like mako did when looking at the stickys. They are old threads and there are easy to confuse when you don't know many people. I have been reading up on it lately as I want to be more involved with the club.it is not as easy to decipher as you think it is when you are completely green to the club. I've been around for almost 3 years and am just learning about this now. I'm glad to see it come up so we can all learn about how our club is ran and organized.

I agree. I would rather pay money than have to do any kind of work :gee:.............. but my mind set is changing for the better regarding the above statement.

LOL-- Geoff has cheaper taste in men & beer, I guess...

Kyle, you met or at least saw all the current SoCal BOD members at this year's SoCal Fest. And at last year's SoCal Fest, for that matter. We just don't wear special hats or pins... and our capes are invisible!

And wine.... I remember at Calico one time him raving about this amazing wife he brought.,. In a box...

A wife in a box? Wow, that must be a mail-order upgrade! LOL

Revisionist history there.

It was a pretty tasty Sarah, it would have been easier if it had been boxed though since I had some cork trouble with one of the bottles, only had a shitty corkscrew.

You had Sarah in a box???? I think there's laws against that ;) Btw, I haven't met a boxed wine I liked... yet ;) While I will agree that it's "convenient" for travel there is something about not sacrificing standards ;)

We've had the Black Box before and it was decent, for a little while there was talk of more quality operations picking up the box but it fizzled out.

I prefer pouring from a bottle as well even though really the box makes more sense.

so push the darn cork into the bottle... you know you're gonna finish it (or can find someone to finish it) anyways :wow:

ps: a decent quality gear/bearing puller will push a cork into a bottle with ease

I'm pretty sure that's what I did. I dunno it was back in 2005 or so.
