Those are DPG plates. You can find them at dpgoffroad.com

Thanks for the compliments. I'm learning as I go. ;)

It appears to be a very well built radiator with attention to detail. I made the decision to purchase the FFD radiator based on the results of others who have installed them. In other words, I haven’t heard of anyone being disappointed in the quality of the radiator. Take a look and tell me what you think?

Them welds look horrible, there is alot of under cut on that radiator. The welds on the mounting tab looks cold rolled also.Weld in the outlet should have been cleaned up also and can't realy tell from the picture but it looks like porosity near the filler neck.

Now you tell me!

ya, those welds definitely arent esthetically pleasing. i cant comment on quality, as i havent had the opportunity to do many alloys. likely a 4pm friday build, or they let the new guy play with the tig torch.

So far the quality of the radiator has been good. There are a few others who have installed the FFD radiator since mine was installed. At this time, no one has reported any leaks!

The shop said there were three holes/breaks in the old exhaust system. The original system was 14 years old, so I can’t complain. Here’s what it looked like the day I drove it in for the repair. I was a little worried that I was going to lose some exhaust parts on the way to the shop!

Here’s the final product!

For those who are interested and/or taking notes on my 2000/2001 exhaust system, I have one small correction to note. I purchased two NTK oxygen sensors Part # 23506 (upstream front/rear) and two of the NTK oxygen sensors Part # 23099 (downstream front/rear). The downstream front sensor was too short and couldn’t reach. To remedy this, I would recommend purchasing the NTK oxygen sensor Part # 23110.

Let me preface this by saying that one advantage of buying a new vehicle is that you can stay on top of maintenance and repairs. One disadvantage of buying a used and neglected vehicle is the plethora of minor/major problems that can oftentimes be inherited, which can be a little overwhelming. Our XJ is no exception; it has a lot of repairs that need to be made. And since the Jeep is our daily driver and weekend workhorse, I’ve been trying to avoid too much downtime. In other words, I’ve only been addressing these “minor” problems once they’ve turned into critical problems.

With that being said, the underside of the Jeep is coated with oils from several leak sources. The leaks have certainly become an issue, especially for someone who’s a little OCD. Now that winter is here, this is a good time to start tackling some of these leak problems. Here’s a list of items that we found leaking!

Valve cover gasket
Oil Pan Gasket
Rear Main Seal
Front crank shaft seal
Transmission Pan Gasket
Transmission Cooler Line
Oil Filter Adapter
Power Steering Pump
Thermostat gasket

After evaluating what needs to be done, and knowing that one leak is no better than the other, we're going to start on top of the engine (valve cover gasket) and work down.

I’m not sure how much the aluminum valve cover with cooling fins will dissipate engine heat, but I thought this would be a good time to add one! I also like that it brings some color to the engine compartment. Included is the mounting hardware, gasket, and oil cap.

I have that valve cover only the gasket started leaking about 6months after..

I've got the same one but black on my xj. No leaks and it's been like 2 years iirc. Only thing i have done was added a Lil piece of aluminum to make sure the oil cap stays on

I really like that rear bumper/tire carrier you are planning on putting on there. Where can I find one like that cause I'm trying to build one and need to find out where to buy the materials.

Since you all know how much I love filtration, I went ahead and added a slightly larger oil filter. The WIX 51515 is a nice substitute for the WIX 51085. The next time I will cross-reference and upgrade to the Amsoil Ea015. For added protection, I also switched from Amsoil 10W-30 OET to Amsoil 10W-30 ATM. The larger filter increased the oil capacity by approximately 1/2 quart.

Thanks for the updates... I've been running larger Oil filters for years on my XJ's... the 51515 WIX is a great filter and what's currently on my '01XJ. :)
