Thats what I was wondering too. I know there are campgrounds there, I've got friends who have used them. But I'm not sure if there first come first serve, or if you need a pass or what. I'll send I PM to KarlVP, I know he has camped there before, maby he would know.

It is STATE owned land. Camping can be had anywhere there is room. I reccommend camp spillman if it is open.

So theres the word, Camp anywhere you can find room, no passes required.

Went to Tahuya today. Just got back. Looks like Camp Spillman is the place to be. Enough room. I may leave friday after work, to get a few spots. Campfires are allowed too.

Bring an air matress or some padding, ground looks hard and somewhat rocky. Trails are about the same as last noobfest, but dry. Easy for a stocker with street tires.

Alright then. Come by my house before then and i'll chop your fenders.:D
Done it before and i'll do it again.

Jamez.

Thanks James, but it isn't just a question of time, its a question of priorities. The Jeeps not the priority anymore. When I do get back to the Jeep, I'll run for some Beer. Just imagine the fun. Drunk people triming fenders.

are you putting it back in the box?

Just moved to Seattle and would like to join in on the fun. I should be able to make it on Sunday.

Just curious if I need any registration or license in WA or would an out of state registration carry over?

Out of state reg. is fine, and the overwhelming likelihood is that nobody will care either way.

Welcome to the NW! Where are you moving from? Any pics of your rig? Hope to see you on Sunday.

AS the date gets closer I'm wondering if I'll be able to find the place ok. Once in Belfair, are the signs for Tahuya easy to spot?

I'm from Minnesota. The jeep is mostly stock except intake/exhaust and steering. I've only taken it wheelin once @ Spider Lake in MN so I have a lot to learn.

Sorry, its not the best pic, but it's all I have at the moment.

The origional post mentions meeting at the safeway in Belfair at 1:00.

Is everyone planning on meeting at 1:00 or is anyone else thinking of being there a little earlier? I was thinking of heading out of seattle first thing Saturday morning and getting in earlier.

The Fam Damily is getting stoked. I'll be there a little later in the day Saturday, but there nonetheless.
Who is bringing firewood?
I might have to lay off of the typical fireside whiskey this time...until the little one goes to bed....Matt, will it be Makers, or Bullitt? I'm buyin'

John

Will be out Sunday morning. I read somewhere that there would be a morning meet at the Safeway? Can't remember how to get to Tehuya.

I can meet people at Safeway at 10am and 1pm.
I am going to get there early(7am or so) to get a couple spots, but the area is perty big, so finding space shouldn't be a problem.
Since it has been cold out the mornings of the last week, bring stuff to keep warm. Weather forcasts rain for Sunday, which is when the 'main' run will take place.
I will bring some firewood, but everyone else it welcome to contribute to that.
Bring food too.

People who are coming Sunday, breakfast at Jimmy D's? Everyone camping down for that?
If not, Ill be at Safeway around 8am, And Leaving around 8:30.

Directions for those who come later on in the Day on Saturday.

Take I-5 to(ward) Tacoma, Washington.
Follow signs that lead to SR16.
Follow until you see signs that will lead you towards Belfair.
Once on HWY3, you will know your in Belfair, because there will be a train bridge you drive under saying "Welcome to Belfair".
A half mile more and the town is there.
The Safeway will be on your Right hand side.
Once in town, Take a right at your FIRST stop light, HWY300, which will later turn into NE Shore road.
Go straight throught the 4 way stop sign.
Follow that until you come to Belfair Tahuya RD, Take a right up the hill.
Follow until you see Elfendahl Pass road. Take a right.
Follow signs Ill put up. They will be on paper plates, saying NAXJA NWC RUN.

If anyone gets lost, you can call me on my Cell phone, and I can run back into town to meet. 253-332-3809.

Thanks, and hope to see you all there!

PS. Here is a good map of the place. You can study it, as it leads from Belfair to Camp Spillman. Tuhuya State Forest Map (PDF).
