Knucklehead's blog

wait you have another house with another fun factory? damn. that is pretty nice to have a backup spare lying around in case you need it. your current hosue sounds amazing

today was a really bad day.
Jax was diagnosed with bone cancer in his right shoulder.
He had been limping for a couple days. the vet said to watch him closely yesterday, but he couldn't sleep & was standing up most of the night with one foot dangling.
Diane took him to the vet today for xrays & they found the bone cancer.
he has an appointment tomorrow with the oncologist to determine a course of action.
We have had 2 other rottweilers get bone cancer and it is not pretty. I feel so sad for my furry friend right now. many of you have met Jax & know how close we are. I am not ready for this.

I can only imagine how hard this must be for you, Diane and Jax. :( Our thoughts and prayer are with you all.

oh man Tim thats got to be hard. I am praying for something to work out. Man thats hard.

I know just what you are going through Tim. We went through the same thing with our Boxer a few years ago that had cancer and it was so sad seeing him deteriorate over the course of 8 weeks (over the holidays no less...) We love the breed even though cancer is common. It didn't take us long to adopt another Boxer from a shelter and I know at some point in the next few years our hearts will be broken again when we have to repeat it.

Sorry to hear that Tim. I just had to put my best bud down a couple weeks ago after almost 17 years of companionship, so i know how tough this is. Hoping for the best for Jax, you and Diane.

Tim-
Seeing you with that dog, I know you are hurting. Jax is pretty special, it did not take me long to figure that out. Praying for his recovery. -Tim Royal

Lisa and I are wondering how it went with Jax Dr appointment today? What did they have to say?

Thank you all for the kind words, it helps me as I am completely beside myself right now in emotional pain.
Jax has a bad infection in his shoulder, a fever, & low blood sugar, per the preliminary tests today. they are keeping him in critical care overnight, doing more xrays, cultures, tests, blood work, etc. etc. the dr. says it is a really bad kind of infection, but at least sounded slightly more hopeful than if it was bone cancer.

Mr. Ed, thank you for the call, it really meant a lot to me. you are a truly great friend.

I wish you guys the best and hope that everything goes well. I can only imagine what you're feeling, I'd be be an emotional wreck if my mutt Piggy was going thru this.

Definitely hoping for the best.

Wow, Im sorry to hear that Tim. Jax is a strong pup, and I'll be praying for a quick and full recovery.

Sorry to hear he's not feeling well. Hope he gets well soon.
