O sh!t, Parts porn!

so i spent the weekend building a truss / ram mount for the hp60. i think it turned out pretty decent. got to bend up some tube with my new bender, it works really good.
i used 1.5" x .188 wall tube for the truss & 1/4" plate for the...plate.
now i need to buy a baleigh tb-250 tube notcher. notching in my bridgeport sucks ass. it took forever to set up the first weird angles i needed.

Nice!

i picked up my new shoes for the green heep today & spent a couple hours learning how to mount them, glue the back of the front bead, & installing 132 grade 8 bolts, nylock nuts, & washers, then snugging them up to 5 ft. lbs.
what a pain in the ass! i dropped down from 35's to 33's in hopes of saving unit bearings (the rig ate 3 new ones so far this year) & to help keep me from beating it to death. (thats what the red heep is for)

also picked up some quality resource materials to study with...:gee:

that 60 is freakin sweet. i have also considered going back down to 33s to gain some power and more throttle control (lighter and less wide means less throttle and i miss that part...) although ive yet to eat up my crappy junkyard bearings yet. im sure they will soon. do you over torque the axle nut on the shaft? ive heard that can do it....

What kind of beadlocks are those?

Be sure to put a build up on pirate. You'll learn so much and get a ton of help from there.

I like the ram mount. Tucked up nice and high and out of the way.

thanks.
the beadlocks are ruffstuff. they fit perfectly. i moved the valve stems inboard also.

i spend a bit of time on pirate as well...:scottm:

Welcome back to "Club 33!" Those tires look sweet with the bead locks and I can't wait to go with 12.50's when my KM2's wear out. MTZ's may be my next set of meats....

That 60 is sweet and the only new shoes that I will be buying are for my kids. I can finish my 44s with the $$ I just spent on back to school crap!!

Are you still carrying a spare? I see alot of rigs rolling up the hill without and most appear to be running beadlocks.

we just got back from a week in Oregon. we drug the green heep behind the motorhome. got to check all our properties to make sure all is well. i got to go salmon fishing on the coast & fly fishing for trout on the mckenzie river. had a great time, i wish we could move up there right now, but i am stuck in california for a few more years.

while i was gone my early b-day present to myself showed up. i bought a 55 ton hydraulic ironworker with tons of tooling on ebay. this will make punching, shearing, bending, & notching thick steel plate a breeze! 2400 lbs. of fun! now i need to find a place to keep it in my crowded shop. i think i may finally be running out of tools & equipment that i need to buy.

Haha Tim.... I think you have a tool problem. Very nice.

Glad you had fun in Oregon. I'd love to make a pass though the border to the north soon.

Welcome back. That'll fit in the door, right? I'll help you lift it:helpme:. What time you want to start?...and we've got left-over beer at your place that needs to be watched.

But seriously...how bad can I crush my entire hand in that thing?!?

My favorite part is the sticker that says "55 ton". That sounds like a lot.

Just some guy,

i need to figure out how to move the red heep out of the way so i can forklift this beast inside.

pretend your hand was made of 1/2" thick steel plate 12" wide. it will cut it like paper. :scottm:
