Thank You to all who wrote, called, texted, emailed, or messaged about Jax.
Your kind words & thoughts really helped Diane & I get through a very painful time.
I need to design & fabricate the urn that will contain his ashes.
It will be made of sheet metal that i will cut from a spare XJ hood that i have.
Jax always loved being in the jeep, & so he will always be.
We just got back from a 2 week whirlwind in Oregon.
I went fishing one day & worked on houses the other 14 days.
We closed on another duplex on the 24th & I spent 3 days fixing things to get it rent ready.
One we bought a couple month ago is almost done fixing up. Just down to a punch list with my contractor.
I really need to keep after him to make sure everything gets done right & on time. uugghh, he makes me friggin crazy. His helpers all look like meth heads, but he is really cheap.
I did all the demo on a really beatup 1910 small cottage I bought on the last trip.
Had some guys cut down a 42" round doug fir that was about 120' tall. The neighbors wanted the firewood & cut it all up & will burn the scraps in the yard at no cost. win!
The new roofing materials get delivered tuesday & the electrician is about half way done rewiring the house.
I got word back from a bank that if I bump a lowball offer i made 4 months ago by 5k they will accept it, so I did.
Met with my inspector, checked it all out, didn't find too much nasty stuff (needs new roof, carpet, exterior paint, furnace, condensing unit, water heater & misc. clean up, about 10 to 12k total rehab costs) & it should close the end of january.
With luck I can get all the rehab done & rent ready by march 1st.
It looks like KOH may be out for me this year as i will need to spend all the time I can get off working up in Oregon.
Right before we left I started building a cage for my excavator. got it roughed out & some of it is finished welded, but lots to do to make a semi enclosed cab out of it.
I did get the green heep road worthy again, replaced a deavers main leaf that I destroyed, fixed the broken arb, & reset the gears.
Sooner or later I need to get back into the shop & build a cage for the red p.o.s.
