Jim Marlar aka "CrazyJim"

Karstic is asking legitmate questions, and asking to an extent the same questions of everyone.

Really? Did he ask them all if they read the by laws? All I see is BS'in about a motorhome.

True but intentionally asking one person continually vs. asking multiple persons for their opinion to make an informed opinion to vote off of is different.

A question spawned FROM this thread and I think well placed.

Does it seem like Karstic and Remi are against Jim for some reason? Thats how it seems to me since I have not seen them attacking any of the other candidates. Oh wait, Remi is friends with Brendan.......stupid me, I forgot my cliques. Don't know about Karstic (only met him once).

They will all get their due. Our chapter has had a lack of leadership for awhile and that has been the excuse for many issues. This isn't a popularity contest as many of you want to make it out to be.

Don't accuse me of being in a clique. You're all a bunch of assh:)oles. I hate you all equally.

Thanks Andy, but worry not. This is only helping further peoples knowledge on me so they can make an informed decision about me instead of making one based on "popularity".

I have known Brendan and Josh for many years so I know where they stand on certain issues. I don't know Jim so I"m asking him questions to find out more where he stands.

Its important to ask the questions.
Most of us believe that the slate of candidates that Jim will be leading represent a nice cross section of what we, as the SoCal chapter of NAXJA,
are.

No leader needs to know all the details of every issue that faces a group.
They just need to know the issues. If they don't know them, they need to be informned about them. Safety requirements come to mind here...

Personally, I like anything that does not include pavement. That is to say, the high speed stuff is fun (but really, Cherokees are not high speed rigs!)

Rock crawling is fun, but damn it! I'm spending too much time building and not enough time wheelin'!

Stocker stuff is fun, but where the hell can you buy good carnuba wax anymore?

:D

I have said it before and I'll say it again. I am glad to not be red and have to vote this time around. I like all three candidates and any of the three can and will do a great job. I have reasons in my head why I think each of them should win. Can we have three presidents? :D

You think you have some influential control over Brendan and Josh and are worried because Jim want fall for your bull crap.

It is clearly your mission to undermine Jim in any way you can.

JV not so much, Big bear focuses on only one group of Naxja.

Why not mix it up.. why does it have to be Big Bear and JV forever....

Tony, is that not the truth or what. NAXJA started off great 3 years ago for me, but has become boring. We need new blood for sure and fun "NEW" places to go. I joined Capo Valley Four wheelers and they do at least two trips a month all over the place, but the people in NAXJA So.Cal are definitely more fun.

One Question I have for Jim is you seem to be very busy and have stated this in many threads, are you really going to have the time needed to turn our club around?

Cracker.... why don't you grow up..............

Don't have to.

Even a child can read through your bull crap. :gag:

I find it ironic that the consistent factor in 4 years of crappy leadership is the most critical of Jim.

You fail in so many ways Remi.

Wow why don't we ALL grow up and keep the petty BS, egos and attitudes out of the candidate threads and focus on the election at hand.

This is where it is on the most senior event coordinator to bail out of whatever harder run he is doing and lead the stockers on their run. As a group leader you don't just continue on with what you WANT to do and let the poor little stockers go away, you could EASILY find somebody to lead a harder run as a real leader.
I agree with this. If you are putting an event together then you should be willing to do what it takes to make sure all who show have an organized run to go on. If you have to hit the gnarley trails do it when someone else is coordinating. The point is that if you agree to put an event together then it is your responsibility to make sure all are included.

Sorry Cracker but I can think for myself. :D

Very well said.

I think I remember this a bit... So here's the deal: yes it probably was 2008 and from what I recall there was a question/conversation regarding potential damage and a statement was made that yes you can expect damage during the run. Also from what I recall there was a different (easier) run that was also led that day and was suggested as an alternative. But then again... I got bad memory and I might be just imagining this all ;)

Just to clear things up. This was 2008. I was in my daily driver on a stock suspension and was encourage by "non BOD members" that I would be able to complete the Gold Mountain run. There was also a "easy run that included Jacoby Canyon that year. Within the first mile, I whacked the rear diff on a small rock and being that it was my first run and my daily driver I was encouraged to turn around by Rabbit. He was very courteous about it and even let me borrow a map of the area and pointed us in the direction of some trails we could manage as a stocker. Yes, there is plenty of trails stockers can run and have good scenic fun. There was also a 2WD Xj on 31's I believe, maybe 33's that was also encouraged to turn around and the two of us ran all over the fire roads in Big Bear and had a great time. We then returned to camp for the BBQ and raffle and continued the good times.

In the defense of Robert and Remi I have been to runs and events where both were present since becoming involved with NAXJA in the spring of 2008. That being said, I have also been to events, rock crawling and go fast and have met people from NAXJA, mostly old timers, that have been less than friendly with the new guy in the stocker, so yes that does happen and I wish you the best of luck changing it but believe that is just human nature.
