GUNS & AMMO

with all due respect to the LEO folks here (and those of you whom I know, know that I respect you), lets not express shock at heavy handed militarized police tactics. They are SOP these days, resulting in the deaths of innocent dogs, kids and grandmas every week in the "land of the free". "Officer safety" takes precedence in all circumstances over the safety of those they are charged with serving and protecting. Thus the use of a fully armed tactical team to raid a home already illegally searched (and known to be gunless) to "take down" a family that might own a few bullets...

Imagine in America that a law-abiding, productive member of society is going to do time for having a spent shell casing in his home, or even ammunition without a weapon (a/k/a "paperweights"), let alone exercising his natural rights. Jeebus.

My guess is his ex-wife had a vendetta against this man and his new girlfriend, and sent a posse after him to make his life miserable. That, or, he pissed off the wrong client with his financial investments job. Keep in mind that Washington is full of socialites that have connections. I'd be curious about his ex-wife's background and who she's related to.

Because no matter how you slice it, this is very excessive. Even by D.C. standards.

Even so, should a vendetta be cause for public servants to tread upon natural rights, in any circumstance? Personally, I couldn't sleep at night if I had participated in treating a man and his children in such a way, knowing full well that it was in no way justifiable. Shameful.

Or was that just a test run to see what they can get away with and how much backlash there is from the general public before they try to disarm America.

I open carried in a McDonald's last weekend. I got a couple looks. I was waiting for someone to ask my what I was thinking or to call the cops. If the cops were called, I would have taken all measures necessary to ensure that they did not perform any illegal searches or seizures.

Its most unfortunate that (as innocent as it may have been) the man was holding items illegally. It would have been much better for gun advocates had he had no illegal items and all their ridiculous practices were for all for not.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that the measures they had taken were by far way too aggressive, but it technically wasn't without merit. I do hope he wins, though. This country has much bigger fish to fry than a couple spent shell casings and a box of .40 ammo.

I like .380 and I know a guy who carries a .380 daily and I am wanting one for a pocket carry. I have plenty of ammo so I am looking solely at .380 and not any other calibers at this time.
Is there any reason I should not get a ruger lcl with the crimson trace?

Why pay an extra $150 for a silly gimmick? I'd just get the regular LCP.

Those snub nose revolvers shoot terrible. My dad carries a .380 semi and my mom has the S&W ultra light revolver ..... Semi shoots nice.... The revolver is all over the place. Dads semi has the laser....kinda cool but on such a small gun.... the dot only shows where you intended to hit....

Considering when you would potentially use you're conceal carry I see no reason to worry much about accuracy. It would have to be pretty bad for me not to hit you center mass at 5-15ft.

Still, .45ACP ain't that expensive or hard to come by and both the XDS or M&P Shield are surprisingly accurate. You can get a 9mm version of each too but that ammo is still somewhat scarce.

As far .380 goes, Ruger makes pretty good guns so anything they have to offer should be good. I wouldn't spend the money on the laser pointer though. What do you need it for to shoot a guy 10ft away from you? Point at the bottom of his chest and you're going to hit something. Lung, heart, and stomach are all right there just waiting to have holes put in them. I like revolvers but a semi is nice too because its faster to reload. And yes, if I'm in the situation where I'm using my XDS I am putting the entire magazine into you and then swapping another in just incase you've got friends.

Walther is also well known for making good .380 pistols. I mean come on, the Walther PPK? I want one just because its a pure icon. Its the only gadget used by every single James Bond actor.

At 5-15ft, a Judge with a 410 defensive shotgun round will pretty much cut anyone in half. Beyond that, the accuracy goes down significantly unless you use a 45lc round.

I like my Judge. It's devastating and it's my daily carry.

Ya have to ensure you're close to your assailant before using a 410 Judge..... any stray projectiles and you're getting sued.

I've got an LCP with a LaserLyte on it. Sighted in at 20', it's gonna get me into the range. Biggest reason I wanted the laser on it was because the sights are terribly small and difficult to acquisition rapidly and I'm sure even harder when a bad guy would make me use it.

The LC9/LC380 have much better sights but it's roughly 15% larger overall. From what I understand the LC380 has very little recoil with some great features. I'm unsure as to how comfortable/easily it conceals in the pocket.

For size reference...

I bought a LCP with crimson trace. Held a bunch of its competition this weekend and decided on it. I put 40 rounds through it today after class with a buddy and we are both very impressed with it.

GUNS & AMMO

I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Neither my wife's Ruger 10/22 or my Ruger Vaquero have given me and reason to regret their purchase. My history with Ruger products has always been satisfactory.

Next time your around for a weekend we should go shooting. I'd love to see how that little guy shoots.

I picked up a LCP last summer. Very nice to shoot and fits in my pocket nicely. Love having a small gun to carry in the summer. But in the winter when Im wearing more clothes I still prefer to carry my XD compact .45.

We were comparing my dads bersa vs my ruger. The bersa (p22 size) is a nice pocket gun but the ruger is like a little sock gun. stupid tiny.
