GUNS & AMMO

Santa was generous this year. :)

After shooting my IWI my wife wanted her own double-action pistol in a 9mm. My Jericho is in .40S&W and the steel frame is way too large for her. After a ton of research, I bought her a Bersa Ultra-Compact 9mm with the nickel coated slide. After getting it and tearing it apart, this thing is built like a tank and it's small enough to be comfortable in her hands. It's got a nice, long beavertail so slide-bite won't be an issue. In SA - the trigger pull is a very light 2.8lbs. My only complaint is that it is kind of heavy for a CC weapon.

First mod will be to polish the trigger bar assembly and get a Crimson Trace laser.

For the price-point, I think Bersa is one of the best kept secrets for CC Pistols. Definitely worth checking them out if you're in the market.

Here's her new pistol next to mine for comparison.

Dad has had a bersa as a CC Pistol since he started carrying.
I am trying to get him to replace it with a ruger lc380 with crimson trace. The Bersa feels comfortable in my hands but rubs me wrong when shooting. great gun though besides my personal hangups on it.

Brother all set up and ready to get it sighted in

Ruger LCP is what I have it on, am working on getting more measurements for other guns... PM me and we can get one done for most any gun/magazine...

What's that white one? And how do you like the hi point carbine? I got a HP carbine In .45 and like it a lot.

Honestly. That high point carbine is my favorite shooter. It's well balanced, accurate to 150 yards on iron sights alone, and very little recoil. It's cheap, and cheap to shoot.

The white one is just a Mossberg 715t. Also a cheapy, hence not being afraid to coat it.

Too bad you went for a rafting trip on the Colorado river, and lost all your guns. Don't feel like the lone ranger, it seems to have happened to all of us. :)

Ya I like mine as well. It's kind of a heavy bitch but I like it.

Happiness is.............

More gun parts.........

Windham Weaponry chrome lined, 5.56 barrel assembly (1:9 twist) with M4 feed ramps, pinned single rail gas block and birdcage flash hider, GMG flip-up iron sights and a UTG quad rail

To go on this:

I started building this thing back in early '06. Began with a DPMS Panther stripped lower & lower parts kit, Aero Precision upper, Magpul MIAD grip, CAA buttstock, & Wilson Combat single point sling plate.

I still need a BCG and charging handle, which I should procure sometime in the next month or so, then I can finally shoot the damn thing.

The best AR builds are the ones that take forever... it means you got all the parts you WANTED rather than settling for what you could afford at the time to get it done. Nice work.

Unless what you wanted was a bare bones M4 type AR, then the 700$ Bushmaster on sale at Sportsmans Warehouse is just the ticket.

Speaking of AR's, I have a good buddy/co-worker who can do a trigger job for 60$. He did mine and it's very nice. He's the armorer at our shop.

As the Feds don't consider this a firearm it might not be worthy, but I used gift cards to pick this bad boy up last night. After shooting my single action Vaquero I decided to try something even more vintage. I love the octagon barrel and brass frame. It's a 1851 Confederate Navy w/ 7" barrel.

I've been considering picking up one of those as well.

It was 174$ and I had 150$ in gift cards, plus no back ground check. I've been wanting to try black powder for awhile so it was a no brainer.

I really want a Griswald, but they're harder to find and more expensive. I figure I'll try this out and if I like it I'll expand. If I don't I'll either keep it for the cool factor or sell it off.

Yeah, it's going to be even longer than my Vaquero. I love shooting the Vaquero but I am dan glad I'm not reliant on it in the military.

The nice thing about this powder revolver though is that at 174$ each and no background check you could easily just buy a few of them and switch guns instead if reloading.

I want to get a black powder rifle too, again I'll be going old school with octagon barrel, wood stock, and brass bits.
