There is very few bomb craters on the west side of the lakebed...most of them are on the east side. You can sort of see them in the map you posted. We'll be just left of the 'A' on the map as Boone road enters the lakebed.

Looks like a play it by ear thing as far as trails. Have to ask around and hook up with people. Runs usually take off around 9ish, but you'd need to be figuring it out before then.

got my jeep together, however i have a chattery howling noise when i let off the gas when rolling. it's quiet under load. guessing i jacked up a ring gear. yay. going to investigate, hopefully i can get it figured out in time.

I'll be leaving from Carlsbad, hopefully 3-ish Friday, doing 78E/15N/79N/10E/62N/247NE.

I'll try to remember to put on my antenna & turn my CB on. If so, I'll leave it on Ch 14, unless that's got one of those "400lb 55yo I still live with my mom in the boonies" asshats blabbing away on it with the booster. If so, I'll bop down to Ch. 4. If that's screwed up too, I'd go for Ch 24. Keep it in the "4's".

Cell phone's spotty out there, but better than it used to be. I'm on Verizon, and get signal probably 75+% of the time on the lakebed. Mine is a dumbphone, so I have no idea on 4G, etc., however I wouldn't recommend tyring to stream porn or YouTube videos...
