Geostash thread.

I didn't think all that came from the geostash. Wasn't some of it from funds that were already in the account?

If we can generate $800+ from the geostash, then I completely agree that we should donate to the fund.

Last year the Geostash event grossed 1500 bucks. After expenses we made a little over 900. We gave 800 of that to the Cannan Mtn fund.

Part of national rules states that in order for them to match funds we need to have a good cause to give it to. I think this needs to happen again this year.

One of the big reasons we did so good last year is we had a ton of stuff to give a way. We really need a couple or at least one really good item to draw people in and we need it now. IF we could post a thread up today stating what we had to give away it would draw in a lot more interest.

Sounds like a go to me.

Will we have a daily pre-run meeting at the Ward Compound where we can register people?

Man. I tell you I wish we would have picked a different time of year to do this Colorado trip or the Geostash. My head just can't get around things that need to be done.

Yes, we will. I will start a thread

Well, with the ones that Ryan has done, plus what Chris, Steve and I got placed today, I think we're halfway through placing all the caches. We found a couple tight trails that will provide some challenge (not too much, I think) to get through.

While we were placing caches, we found this truck which had been driven off the road into the stream. It was a long way down. They're lucky no one was hurt.

Here's Steve exploring the drop off as we were on our way back. Obviously, the truck had been pulled out by then.

Had a good time placing Caches. Need to find time to get up and do the rest of them. I think that we have 8 more to place. They need to go on the bountiful side.

Who Can get the last 8 Caches placed on the bountiful side? I just found out that I get the Joy of working every other Saturday again and between working on my house and getting my Jeep ready for Moab in October I dont think I am going to have time to head up there again before the event. I was going to go this weekend, but I need to get my siding done.

I should be able to do it.
It cost me 50.00 in gas to come up last weekend so it would probably be next paycheck before I could come up again. Chris, how does the 9th look for you?

I have the notebook with the locations of the other cashes marked in them and the rest of the cashes that need to be picked up.

I'm going to be at lagoon for a company party on the 8th. I'll probably pick those last few up from you and place them on Saturday. Any good places to camp near lagoon?

Lagoon has camping and Cherry Hill is a mile up 89.

If there are caches left on the 16th I might be able to help place them.
