Fall Flog

hey kudzu whats your average drive time to windrock?

I can be in Knoxville in about 3 hours

okay so not to bad then.....

About how many poeple usually show up for this event? I know I always end up preaching about Gulches but it's right in the MIDDLE! It's a small park. It doesn't cover near the area but there are a good many trails. Lots of obstacles that most of you couldn't dream of attempting. Now, if it's been raining a lot then it turns into a mud pit but the last 2 times I've been down there I couldn't see for all the dry dust in the air. I had a blast!

Either way! I want to go to either Windrock or URE. I just hate to see Gulches never being an option! We always complain about not having places to ride but here's a decent place that no one knows about.

In fact, they just opened several more trails...

It would take me and hour longer to get there for me and it's 88 acres. Too small. I like larger areas and decent length trails. I can be in URE in 1.5 hours. If it was bigger with less mud, all I have seen is mud pictures for the most part, I might be inclinded to make a day of it. But for now with gas prices they way they are I will not waste my money going there.

Have you ever been?

No, and its fairly far down on the list of must go see too. I'd drive to URE before going over there. Next time I'm in Aiken with the heep I plan on checkign it out. I ran the miles and my parents house is about 70 miles from Laurens.

If windrock is the location, I will tell you there will be that many in locals.

I would love to make this, but there will be a little HO joining the world around this time, yous guys have fun.

Around a dozen XJs, some have passangers.

That's it? Geez, we usually have around 20-30 vehicles at a night ride at Gulches and you hardly ever see anyone.

These places that you wheel must be amazing. I'd love to get down that way. I love Gulches! If Gulches is so low on your list of wheeling spots then I'm gunna freak when I get to do some REAL wheelin! I'm very much looking forward to FF.

The last 2 places I wheeled where Harlan and Callantee. I promis you they are both far better then Gulches will ever be. As for URE, Like I said I wheel there bc it is close. The exact same reason you wheel Gulches. U may not like URE I do. Most find it mildly amusing. Personally I like to run URE in 2 low and lots of throttle and brakes.

you drive like an old lady in a geo... this is matt by the way;)

Hey Matt:wave1::wave1:

With all this Bama talk, I'm surprised no one mentioned Grayrock? Morris Mtn is also likely a good place for a bigger ride. We'll see Mountainside tomorrow....Grayrock likely has more for the hard core, then those running 31-33's and open...I've actually been stuck on the PERIMETER ROAD (the road you would use to get to the TRAILS) open on 30's.......:D
Anyone been to this Choccoloco place yet?? The East/West idea isn't bad...those Carolina boyz are pretty far away...:conceited

I'd definately be there if it is at URE, this year I'm limited on traveling due to not having time off from work due to my recent trip to Florida. In the next few weeks I'm hoping to have my track bar fixed permenatnely as well as hoping to have my long arms done.
URE is about an 1.5 hr drive for me and evertything else seems much farther when factoring the trailer and stops for gas(sorry my tow rig is a Dodge Ram 1500 with a thirty 5.9L).

That ain't no excuse. I got a 1500 5.9 with 35's and stock gears. I'm lucky to get 10mpg without the 18" steel deck trailer and the 4k+lb jeep on it.

I've not been to URE. That's why I have yet to compare Gulches to anywhere else. Like I said, I look forward to FF. Where ever it is.

Mountainside was a blast...

Okay but we have a slight problem I was asked if we could move the date to the next weekend due to the 10th being the Marines Birthday & they would not be able to get out that weekend.

So would the weekend of Nov. 14-16 be okay?
